that old piece of **** Hopkins might actually beat Pavlik. He's a great defensive fighter, better boxing skills, WAYYYY more experience, NEVER BEEN KO'd. Actually I'm gonna say it, Hopkins by SD. And believe me I need you guys to convince me I'm crazy because this has been eating at me for a while

I doubt it can happen as long Pav keeps up a decent workrate.

It's a lot harder winning enough rounds going backwards. Any close rounds will go to the aggressor.

Not something you want to hear put Pavlik by far is one of the slowest punches Hopkins as faced. Pavlik is gonna get countered and hurt.

A Pavlik fan called KingArthur? Maybe you are a masochist. Anyway, you may well be right, not too long ago Hopkins would have been a heavy favourite against Kelly, and he just fought a close fight against the P4P#2 so perhaps people are underestimating him.

if hopkins can improve his stamina he can edge out a win. but if he performs even older than he did against calzaghe he'll lose based on kellys punch output alone imo

He'll still have to commit himself more than he did against Joe.

But I suppose the idea with Pavlik should be to not let him get his range which would mean staying on the outside is the more dangerous place to be. Agaist Zaghe he was focused on upsetting Joe's rhythm and not letting him get in close to let of flurries of punches.

Hops could win if he could do the same kind of **** he did Winky to Pavlik. WHich is difficult since Pavlik happen's to be a huge bastard.

the problem for bhop will be pavliks jab. if he can get it off, and working well. bhop will be alot less likely to do his head down, rush in routing if the jab is popping him. this may help kelly immensely. just a thought.

No he doesn't. Pavlik doesn't have speed. Hopkins won't use up much stamina defending. Hopkins will be more offensive and counter Pavlik. ****, when ur slapping ur super fast and Hopkins was making Calzaghe miss and land on his guard. Just imagine how many times Pavlik will miss.

I think a prime Hopkins would beat Pavlik, but while the fight will be extremely awkward and clumbsy and sloppy and boring in the first few rounds, i feel that Pavlik will pick up the pace late and beat Hopkins by wide decision.
