Margarito is not on Tito's level. Cotto is much smaller and doesnt pack the punch that Tito does.
If you read my original post I said that Tito could KO marg if he hit him with something big early on, I also think that Marg could wear him down and KO him late in the fight.

Vargas fought 12 rounds with Tito, being the smaller man and taking big shots from Tito. You mean to tell me that Vargas, who's chin isn't on the same level as Margs, could take the shots for the better part of 12 rounds but Marg can't? Come on....give Marg some credit man, I know the Cotto fight hurt, I get that but just give the man his due.

You don't know boxing kid, Margarito was landing HEAVY body shots that were wearing Cotto down, he didn't gas, he was worn down with body shots and uppercuts.

      Stop the denial.
granted margarito busted cotto's nose in the 2nd round but cotto didn't look like he was effected by it until he gassed.

margarito wasn't landing anything flush until the late rounds when cotto gassed.

you don't know boxing or don't watch cotto enough. cotto always gasses. that's why cotto turns southpaw sometimes to rest his left arm. that's why cotto can counterpunch when he needs to. that's why cotto ran from mosely.

Marg won't be able to wear down tito or KO him late because Tito has good stamina and can fight late into the fight and still have KO power.

style-wise the puncher beats the pressure fighter. styles make fights and margarito is ****ed against tito.

          Come on, bro.

I love Margarito as much as the next man but really, I don't see how a prime Tony beats a prime Tito. Seriously.

Trinidad at 147 was an absolute monster. 15 title defenses; a reign he started strong and finished strong. To suggest Miguel Cotto hits anywhere near as hard as Felix Trinidad is absolutely ridiculous. They are leagues apart. Cotto is a solid power puncher at 147, Trinidad was one of the heaviest hitters of all time at welter. And you wanna talk about a fighter getting stronger? Trinidad was the original Margarito, except he was much more refined and he hit a helluva lot harder.

Margarito would find himself in deep **** in the sixth round when he realized his opponent was matching him shot for shot and showing no signs of slowing. And hit like a ****ing mule to the head and body. With sharp speed just like he saw against Cotto. Hell, Daniel Santos was still alive on the cards and having an excellent ninth simply because he was lasting with Margarito (although the end was clearly near).

Tito was ten times the fighter Santos was. And he was a little too sharp for a prime Margarito. This one ends like the Campas bout, with Margarito not going down but getting his head rocked back repeatedly as he is no longer able to fully defend himself.

          Trinidad TKO12.

This is a faulty premise as Vargas had showed nothing but a rock solid chin and excellent stamina up until meeting Tito. Even severely out of shape (and it showed) against a young Winky, he pulled it out on the cards by throwing over 100 punches in the last three rounds of the fight. And he closed strong versus a prime Marquez and Quartey. And took solid shots.

Anyone who followed Vargas knows his chin - and possibly shelf life - were ruined by the beating he took at the hands of Tito. And while you mention he lasted until the twelfth, you fail to mention he was dropped five times and beaten within inches of his life. A terrible comparison to make.

Vargas couldnt take Tito's punches.. he was on ***** street for the better part of that fight. The reason why Vargas survived 12 rounds was because he had boxing skill and was able to avoid Tito's shots. Marg gets hit way too often.

When have you seen Tito gassed?

Unfortunately Vargas was never the same after that fight. It goes to show you what happens when you last 12 rounds with one of the hardest punchers P4P in the history of boxing.

Tito has never gassed. Tito would ruin Margarito, same as Vargas.

Do you realize that the only fighter to back Tito up was BHop which has an INCREDIBLE CHIN and GREAT, yes GREAT boxing skills and defense? not to mention much bigger.

No other fighter could back Tito up. Margarito's game is to back his fighters up and apply pressure, he cant do that to Tito. Tito would demolish Margarito! Cotto is much much smaller than Tito, and Tito is one of the hardest punchers P4P in the history of the sport.

Margarito was wobbled by Daniel Santos at 154... Tito has KOd fighters at 160 that had never been KOd (i.e. Joppy)... Tito KOs Daniel Santos and Margarito in the same night.

LMAO, at the puerto ricans posting in this thread.......talking **** about Cotto and Santos, lol.

Its true what Santos said, "once you lose puerto rico turns his back on you." Well actually he said more or less after a lose, they don't care about you anymore.

So sad. Puerto rican fighteres lose and they forget about him. How ****en sad.

Trinidad was a great fighter to watch in his prime but he fought some ****ty ass fighters along the way just as any other great fighter did.

Triniidad was dropped by any fighter with a decent punch.

Trinidad imo, never faced a chin like Margarito or a will as great as his or a continuous puncher as Margarito. And Margarito is Trinidads size.

Trinidad had power, but Mayorga laughed at his power. Had he not done that he would have gone 12 with Trinidad. And Margarito is 2-3 times the fighter Mayorga was.

Great match up, and close fight. Margaritos defense is under rated. And Trinidads power is over rated.

LMAO, at you ricans talking **** about your own fighters, lol. Look what the Cotto lose has done to you guys. What a ****en shame.

                      Tito would KO Tony.

Possible stoppage perhaps.. Prime for prime that is.

Trinidad had crazy stamina. Powerfull hook.. Damn.. I would've loved to see this fight.
