It is just too bad Margarito wasn't around when Tito was the man at Welter. Trinidad likes dudes that stand right in front of him, and with Margarito having no head movement, or lateral movement what so ever, Trinidad's score card, should it go the full 12 rounds, would easily out land Margarito, and the late starter that Tony is...would be well behind and ALL score cards. That's "IF" Tito doesn't knock that head off!

It would be very interesting to see that fight. I don't think Tito was a great boxer by any means, and not as good as Cotto. He hit harder than Cotto but also had a weaker chin than Cotto.

I think that if Tito didn't KO Marg early on in the fight, the longer the fight goes the more problems Tito runs into because of Marg's relentless pressure.

I could see and early stopage by Tito or a late KO by Marg.

The ONLY person to ever trully beat Trinidad was Bernard Hopkins. Trinidad was on the canvas many times, and if you followed Trinidad through his career, you would know that 80% of the times he always get's knocked down...."FROM BEING OFF BALANCE"!

Im glad that Margarito fans have the plain and basic common sense to avoid replying to this thread by saying that Margarito would beat Tito. Anyone who really thinks that Tito would lose to Margarito is not very familiar with the power or capablities that Tito had. Nobody can beat Tito at his own game. He backed mother ***ers up and knocked them out.

Tito wins this fight in incredible fashion, probably by middle round KO or Stoppage.

margarito barely hit cotto with anything huge. cotto gassed.

cotto also gassed against mosley, but mosley didn't put enough pressure on cotto.

beating margarito is all about stamina and skill. you can't hurt him so you have to be able to outbox margarito for 12 full hard grueling rounds.

in tito's case he can go 12 full hard grueling rounds and he still has KO power late. Tito beat Margarito.

You don't know boxing kid, Margarito was landing HEAVY body shots that were wearing Cotto down, he didn't gas, he was worn down with body shots and uppercuts.

No other fighter could back Tito up. Margarito's game is to back his fighters up and apply pressure, he cant do that to Tito. Tito would demolish Margarito! Cotto is much much smaller than Tito, and Tito is one of the hardest punchers P4P in the history of the sport.

Margarito was wobbled by Daniel Santos at 154... Tito has KOd fighters at 160 that had never been KOd (i.e. Joppy)... Tito KOs Daniel Santos and Margarito in the same night.

Also, he was knocked down by much smaller and weaker fighters than Margarito i.e Yori Boy, Vargas. Well my point is that Margarito has never faced a fighter with the power and skill of Tito. Tito P4P is one of the most powerful punchers in the history of boxing. Tito has KOd better and bigger opponents.... Margarito would be a walk in the park for Tito. If you think that Marg can actually beat Tito you are living in a fantasy.

Margarito is not on Tito's level. Cotto is much smaller and doesnt pack the punch that Tito does.
