Just thought I would step in and correct your English Bat. Kill me if you like. In this context it's 'tailor-made', although I can see why 'Taylor-made' would have a nice ring to it.
Ho ho ho.Comment

you guessed it. I grew up watching english drama and that one stands out. Not seen the remake but the original is good enough for me.Exactly. People need to realise that alphabet titles don't mean too much in todays boxing world and instead of fighting nobodies how about you fight someone who may actually make the fight competitive. Kessler needs to step up otherwise he is in danger of becoming a bit of a joke.
Off topic, but I take it you got your username from the tv program? I just saw it (the oringinal version) and I have to say I prefered the remake.Comment

In that case one Arhur Abraham would surely be the logical opponent? I would rather see those two avoid each other for a while though. I want them both to get a crack at some US names.Comment

Lets get Hypothetical here, the match is agreed for December, AA willingly moves up to fight him and gets smashed up in the process and stopped ala Beyer, Kessler gets a good win, the internet smarks are happy for know.
Now he’s back to the predicament he was at back towards the end of 2006. The Germans have watched him beat their favorite adopted son, they don’t want to know this guy, HBO show interest in televising him more BUT he’s expendable, he’s good looking which is a big plus but he’s Danish, the US market is fickle, (Blow/Kessler only had a viewership of 1.6 million, I mean one of the biggest fights of the year only had 1.6m watching, that isn’t mainstream, that’s niche). HBO televise a couple fights of his against good opposition but the numbers are low, HBO decide to cut its ties and screen more lucrative up and comers, he’s back to square 1. Germany doesn’t care, US doesn’t care, Palle doesn’t care.
Building up a core audience in Germany against mediocre fighters gives him not a cushion on which to fall back if **** hits the shovel, but Palle great amount of push on the negotiation table..Comment

You clearly think a lot more about the logistics of the situation than I do, I tend only to think about fights I'd like to see. But that was kind of your point wasn't it? Sometimes we fans forget how little our opinion actually means when set against the harsh realities of business.Lets get Hypothetical here, the match is agreed for December, AA willingly moves up to fight him and gets smashed up in the process and stopped ala Beyer, Kessler gets a good win, the internet smarks are happy for know.

My own view is that both Kessler and Abraham will get frozen out of the American picture for quite a while, and that beating each other will do little to help them. I take the fairly cynical position that it is simply not good business for the US TV companies/ promoters to make fights against threatening european guys like this, because if the US guy loses they lose a potential goldmine and the title goes overseas so there is no chance to build up a new US guy as a replacement. US audiences will simply never take to european boxers as they do home-based stars. Based on this I'd say you are absolutely right about Kessler being wise to try and develop a German following because that is apparently the next best thing.Comment
