as for the first Cotto fight you do know about the options behind the contract right? Of course not you are just talking out your ass in making out there statements to back your claim. I heard 3 but someone on here said 5.

and honestly, HONESTLY, that offer Arum gave Mayweather wasn't going to get Mayweather to bite. Tony knew it, Tony's people knew it, Bob knew it yet supposed fans like you take it as if the contracts were signed.

why should it when for the all the back years Arum didn't treat him with any regard. In fact, do you know who Fernando Beltran is? Look it up and get back to me.

he is considered the best if not one of the best welters in the world but that has more to do with the work he and his team did instead of Arum. Tell me what Arum did? especially in comparison to the fighters he had at the time? if he had took care of Tony the way he did JLC Morales heck even Chavez Jr then Tony would have already had the status he has now instead of waiting until 2008 to finally get it all.

I called you an ******* cuz you are acting like one. Plus I cant smack some sense into you over a message board. You dont know that Margarito would enjoy the same status now that he did back in the day when no one else was willing to fight him. Thats ******. Everything that led up to July 26th happened for a reason. If it wasnt for those experiences maybe Marg would be journeyman fighter for all we know. If it wasnt for Arum, Margarito would have never fought Cotto. So thats why I am right. I aint saying you are wrong. You are just ebing a blind Arum hater. No Arum No Cotto fight.

Nah you just make really ignorant statements especially for someone who either had followed Tony's career or thinks he knows all about it yet praise Arum like he did Tony any favors.

Plus I cant smack some sense into you over a message board.
ahahahaha ok tough guy but anyone who gets their thong in a bunch over a debate has more issues to deal with some internet member such as myself

You dont know that Margarito would enjoy the same status now that he did back in the day when no one else was willing to fight him. Thats ******.
no what's ****** is to assume that he would not have been known, at a faster clip, had he the same push from Arum that was afforded the likes of JLC Morales and JCC Jr.

Everything that led up to July 26th happened for a reason. If it wasnt for those experiences maybe Marg would be journeyman fighter for all we know.
again you are making it sound like it was Arum in the ring forging ahead with his career while his promoter forgot about him while his hot fighters JLC Morales Cotto and JCC Jr got choice TV dates and proper promotion.

what was he supposed to do? Lose because his promoter didn't love him? Quit because JLC et all were getting promotion when he wasn't? Ask Tony's team what they thought of the efforts put forth by TR and Arum. In fact, even this fight was more a coming out party for Cotto than for Margarito. The way they promoted this made Margarito a tough but ultimately secondary afterthough.

If it wasnt for Arum, Margarito would have never fought Cotto. So thats why I am right. I aint saying you are wrong. You are just ebing a blind Arum hater. No Arum No Cotto fight
see now this is where it seperates from someone who simply doesn't know anything (you) to someone who actually followed Tony for more than a year or two.

the statement that Tony wouldn't have fought Cotto if it weren't for Arum is dumb. If this were the case then how in the world did Judah, Cotto, Urkal and Mosley get their shots at Cotto since all of them aren't with Arum? Are you suggesting that Tony simply wouldn't have been good enough to get noticed? If so then you are now just simply a Margarito hater looking for any reason to **** on him. Tony worked his way to the top fighting anyone and everyone he could. He would have had his shot just like anyone else. Arum is no magician who can magically conjur up titles shot no different than any other promoter with some saavy. In fact, Arum has his odds stacked since HBO doesn't really like dealing with him so had Tony been with another promoter whats to say he isn't given the same path Berto got? I mean Dre had a run to the WBC belt that is all time soft.

and you're wrong I dont hate Bob at all. I had dinner with him and his PR team the week of the Taylor Pavlik II fight and he is good dude, a great interview and a funny story teller. I love the fact that he tells HBO to suck it by putting on his own successful PPVs without their help. I love that he actually does promote the fighters when he wants to. He had the luxury of having fernado beltran feed him a stable of mexican fighters and in return those fighters got a lot of love. This overlooked fighters like Martin Castillo and Tony Margarito who weren't with Beltran and it created tension between all involved. So yes Bob is good at what he does but he is no way perfect

Sometimes I wish I can rewatch fights with a couple of boxingscene users. No way did Margarito come close to winning the fight.

I agree its very hypocritical to **** on someone making money then not when it becomes their fighter. I wasn't on here when DLH Mayweather came about but at Max I often said I didn't blame Floyd at all for taking on Oscar. Dawg who wouldn't fight for the chance at 20 mil? Man **** that no one would walk away from that money on principle and they would be lying if they said so

Floyd isnt a coward no way no how he made his chance to be 1. a big star 2. a lot of cash come to fruition in 2007. If that was Tony I would be happy as **** for him and his team.

everyone should be so lucky to fight Oscar for the loot he generates

No ****. Somebody said Margarito vs Williams was razor thin but Quintana vs Williams 1 was a one sided blow out.
