How do you rate Jermain Taylor as a boxer?

When a fighter loses it's easy to dismiss them as we've witnessed a blue print in beating them. It was only a few weeks ago that Cotto was being hailed as a future P4p #1 but now it seems he was the 3rd best man in the Welterweight division all the long.

So the question I ask is, how do you rate Jermain Taylor?

Is there any past or present boxer you rate equally? and do you think he will end up in the HOF.

he's no where near done... in fact i think out of all the possible opponents he's most well-suited to beating Calzaghe

i think they should make Pavlik - Taylor a trilogy, i'm convinced that on a good day Taylor will win

I think Taylor will always be remembered for beating Hopkins, but I don't think he will ever have another win as good. I doubt he'll get into the hall of fame.

Taylor is a class guy he fights anyone and he's attitude makes him likeable... Kelly Pavlik is a one in a lifetime fighter with skills and power and good D... Taylor has those same attributes but lacks the D of Pavlik.. However Taylor is young and has about 8-10 more fights in him and i think he can win atleast 7-9 of those and im sure most of um will be against big name guys... Lacy, Kessler, Calzaghe, Dawson, Tarver, Johnson, Jones Jr. Etc he'll finish a HOFer!

His biggest issue is his endurance. Sure he could keep his hands a bit higher, which he improved upon in the 2nd Pavlik fight, and use a little more head movement, but at this point I think he's so well rounded that with better stamina ALONE he beats pretty much anyone from 160-168. That includes Pavlik, Calzaghe, and Kessler.

Taylor still has a lot of fight left in him. He'll probably end up being the next 168 king, unless Pavlik follows him.

If he fights like he did against Pavlik in the 2nd fight he should be good. Stayed off the ropes and stuck the jab and he countered well at times. He was modest in his out put though. But I think that's just playing it safe against Pavlik's power.
