I thought Paul Williams beat Tony convincingly, people were putting that down to tony not being motivated and starting late (Williams also put the last round in the bag in that fight), personally i think thats a great injustice against the performance the Punisher gave that night.

    what do you guys think?

I think Williams beat him convincingly too. People talk about Marg not doing anything early, but I think this overlooks the fact that Williams boxed very elusively early on, moving around the ring at quite some speed. I thought it was a realy good performance by Paul. I would probably pick him to beat Marg again, but am not certain.

It was a close fight, it could have gone either way. There needs to be a rematch.

Yeah they've been crying that he started late since the fight took place. The fact is Margarito was flabbergasted for the first 6-7 rounds. He didn't know what the hell to do. He tried to knock him out but he didn't have the power to do it. Then in the championship rounds Paul did enough to clearly win the fight and end the Margarito hype.

Good post! I would also take Paul in a rematch (had Margs the first time) but it will be close and a Margarito victory wouldn't be a surprise.

its not just you they are purposefully ignoring the fact that williams already beat margarito.

Paul squeaked a razor thin decision against Margarito and was ****ting bricks in the last few rounds of the fight. "Margarito hype"? Williams is the single most hyped fighter in the sport right now. Nobody is picking Margarito to dominate every division up to Super Middleweight!

Have you seen how many threads on how great Margarito is since you've been a member?

I respect opinions. But that was a clear as day decision for Williams. He literally swept the first half of the fight.

                    Margarito had 3 good rounds.
