Is it just me, or are people forgetting that the Punisher beat Tony?

Yeah that's how I saw it as well. Also I remember that Margarito had a good stretch in those later rounds and seemed to have all the momentum and then Williams came out in the 12th and pretty much sealed up the fight. He could have broken down, but showed some grit and imposed himself on Marg.

So now you duck a fighter to which you've lost?

I respect opinions. But that was a clear as day decision for Williams. He literally swept the first half of the fight.

        Margarito had 3 good rounds.
If it was clear as day how come two judges had it just two points in Williams' favour?

There were a lot of close rounds and Marg stepped it up too late. If he came on strong from the third round instead of the sixth he won the fight and I would pick him in a rematch in a heartbeat, I've always said so.

I have seen threads about Margarito, mainly from Mexicans. But I have never seen anyone suggest that Margarito could "dominate" at 168 lbs, I have with Williams.

I also feel Margarito started to late in the fight. he didnt win many if any early rounds but the difference in the fight was the 12th

Margarito was whoppin paul ass all over the ring in the 11 so going into the last round margarito had the momentum.

the fight was on table in the 12 and after the kind round margo had in the 11 I was really surprise to see paul take the 12. All the credit to paul for having the stomach and will to push himself in the last round to secure victory.

I personally really want to see this rematch, Williams is without doubt the most threating opponent out there in welter weight division for margarito and anyone else in the division.

and it will probably happen next year if gossen offer for 4 million is still good.

Yeah because judges always see the fight the correct way?

It's subjective at the end of the day. And they actually get paid for it. I can't say too much. But Williams was ahead by more than 2 points.

Less on my card. There was probably a point in it at best, too many close rounds.

No, and I clearly remember it. I made a post awhile ago about how I feel like the welterweight division is now really shaken up with Margarito beating Cotto. Because of this point. Paul beat Marg last year, and they have unfinished business before Marg can really be called THE MAN at 147lbs. I thought Cotto was prior to that, but now that he lost, things went in the air.

                    what do you guys think?

Nobody's forgotten it. No excuses, Tony didn't do **** early cuz he couldn't. Paul wouldn't let him. Tony took over the 2nd half but I had Paul takin the 12th to seal it, 115-113. Nobody can deny Williams his shine for that win. He's 1st in line for a shot at Tony now.

Tony's not looking at a Williams or a Clottey rematch. He's looking at $$$$$ for a DLH fight but doesn't have chance in hell of happening. Can't say I don't blame him for it either. He's had a good stretch the last couple of years.
