duffgun you really think archie moorecould score a late KO over calzaghe - calzghe isn't like cotto he doesn't get tired as the fight goes on, in fact he normally ends all his fights very strongly look at the fights vs hopkins, kessler or lacey and his superior stamina (which comes from running at altitude) sees him through.
throw in the fact that joe himself has an absolute granite chin, yes he has been down a couple of times but each time it has been due to balance and poor footwork. i have only ever really seen joe hurt a couple of time most recently in the hopkins fight when hopkins threw short sharp right that staggered calzaghe in round 8/9. in fact its joes chin that allows him to overwhelmhis opponents with punches.
the match up would be ideal and not only was moore power but he was also very good defensively and a savvy operator but i just think calzaghes speed, stamina and adpatability would mean that he would impose his will on the fighter and the fight.

Yes but Hopkins has not got the power of Moore, Moore was able to knock down heavyweights like Marciano. Moore was also a very big light heavy in fact he had real trouble making the weight and would often fight in non title fights at 180lb+, Clazaghe was in a very close fight with Bhop and Moore is much more technical than Bhop. And as i said before Joe is open to the right hand and Moore throws a dynamite right hand.Comment

This has already been said and done. mercer and Bowe turned pro in the same year, Ray was still an up and comer and didnt advance in the rankings to deserve his shot up until mike was doing time. This is a fact!!!! Also i have told you before, as did other posters here, that Tyson-Holyfield was a done deal, there was a press-conference for this. Mike's loss to Douglas changed the plans, but even when the fight was still a go, he went to trial and was convicted.
You did say that walcott's resume ****s on Tyson's. it's in my thread in boxing history forum, im not gonna bother looking for quotes anymore. but you did say it. I would never, ever rank walcott above Tyson. Im not sure anyone will, except you and couple of others.
what's wrong with me making threads? these are the few tyson threads i've made. And it's true, i beleive Louis's opponents are no better than anyone Tyson has fought. Contrary to your belief, Loiuis did face cans. What's a stand out in his resume is the significance of his victories and his title reign. I dont overate tyson and my threads are not there to influence anyone's opinions. I have stated that Joe Louis should be ranked above Tyson. and i didnt get defensive about you prefering Joe's opponents. I have no problem with that, and i have no problem with it now. you're assuming things. If you go back in that thread, i started to get upset with you when you were making inaccurate statements about Tyson, his ducks, opponents, etc. To me, when you say something about tyson, it dont seem like criticism, it seems more like hate and dislike.
Also, those statments were not inaccurate either and many people agreed. There were certainly fighters that Tyson's management avoided and there were chances that he could have fought Holyfield just before he went to prison and he didn't. He made excuses why not to fight him.Comment
