  • What did you think of Clottey last night?

I haven't really seen a thread about his performance last night in a thread so I created one..

How do you think Clottey performed?

I think he looked great, even the rounds he was losing, be blocked all those shots..

He was pretty accurate, didn't fade, and pretty explosive with his shots..
I'm glad he won, hes one of those guys who had to fight everyone to get where hes at now..

Good performance.. Ill be looking forward to see him fight again

He has good defense but lacks KO power. I don't see Clotty beating any top welters. I say he loses to Berto too.

He does have KO power. Did you see Judah in the 7th round? I thought he was getting KO'd. If the round were 20 seconds longer Zab would've been put to sleep!

Clottey's problem is that he doesn't take the initiative often enough. He needs to throw more punches. He's accurate and has a brick for a chin, so he doesn't have to worry about counter shots too much.

looked pretty good. he needs to be more agressive, and not rely so much on coutering, but he is a good fighter. he will be trouble for anyone. iron chin, good power, great defense. little more movement, and agrression and he can do big things.

He fought a good fight. He showed his defense because Zab barely got any real clean shots in but I'm guessing that was Clottey's plan, to show he has good defense. A great fight would have been him showcasing all his skills instead of being so patient.

He waits too long to transition from defense at offense at times. He did however have a tight guard but he was open to the body at times. But if he can take a 1000 punches from Margarito I wouldn't really be concerned with him being hurt.

His straight right hand landed with great accuracy and he put together some really good combinations that ended with body shots. I give him a solid B for last night.

I thought that it didnt matter who Zab was in with last night. He was gonna lose.

Thats what I was thinking.. He was icing zab.. Landing bombs..
I do think he has power.. Zab was clearly hurt a few times in that fight..
It was actually a good fight.

It was the definition of a boxing match.. Some good action, boxing skills, speed, and power..

Clottey would give any welter champ hell.
I think he'd beat most of the top welters as well..

He did what I thought he would do. He's been under the radar for a while likely because of the lack of exposure so I'm glad he got to show himself on HBO against a known name.
