So, let me get this straight...
The point of this thread is that a bigger top 5 ATG is better than Floyd? OK. What else is new?
Well done.Comment

What people need to realize is that even though Leonard lost the first fight with Duran, it was a pretty close fight. The rematch, well thats Duran's problem more than anyone elses. You could argue that the win came fairly shady against Duran though, even SRL himself has admitted it. Duran wasn't at his best at all and rushed by his promoter into the fight.
Had Duran not been pushed into the fight the way he was it might have resulted a lot different. SRL did beat him again though years later when Duran was @ Super Middleweight and way past it.Comment

in addition, SRL lost the first fight because he was tooooo arrogant and said he would beat duran fighting durans style of fight, which was to brawl. it was pretty dumb on leonards part and I'm positive if he would have chose to box, which is obviously his best strength, he would have won.Comment

That's a bit harsh. I don't like the whole 'no contest' or 'any real fan knows this is easy.' Floyd is pretty amazing. Your forgetting his wins over Gernaro Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Emanuel Augustus (say what you will about his record, but have you actually seen this fight?), prime Jesus Chavez, Castillo, DeMarcus Corley (one of the most underrated fighters of all time), and Oscar De La Hoya! To me that's more impressive than the Hearns win, yeah he didn't KO DLH, but that's next to impossible (in any division that DLH actually belongs in). DLH is a huge puncher, and a complete boxer with great defense. Maybe he was on the decline, but he still came in very game, and had some of his worst rounds ever in that fight, as close as it ended up being. Also, super zab judah. Cmon, how can you name Hatton as a big win and not Judah. That fight was much more competitive, and Zab is by far the better boxer than Hatton. That win was very impressive to me, and Zab had a very embarassing 2nd half of the fight.
Another point, noone has been able to beat Mayweather. SRL lost 3 times, and I'd say almost everyone agrees that he did not deserve the W for his rematch with Hearns. Both great fighters, I'm not even picking who I like better. I just don't like seeing floyd discredited. Maybe not as revolutionary, but have we ever seen a fighter as sharp as Floyd?Comment
