I don't know, but I'd like to see it. I said I MIGHT take Clottey over him, not a sure thing or anything like that. Clottey is probably the most complete fighter in the weight class.

Then again he could lose to Judah and that goes out the window.

The difference is I'm not sitting here saying Clottey is an all time great or that he could beat Mayweather, so if he loses, I don't look nearly as dumb as Cotto fans look right now.

This guy lost to a slow, telegraphing every punch, untalented walking chin with 5 losses.

I'll always use this situation as a basis for deciding if a guy knows what he's talking about because there were actual "experts" out there who thought this guy was the real deal. HBO was all over him, hoping he would be for them what Mayweather wasn't.

Well, the truth hurts and this guy has no chance of ever coming close to Mayweather type greatness now.
People just wanted to see Mayweather lose and Cotto was the last bastion of hope. These guys thought DLH would beat Mayweather. They actually thought Hatton would have a chance. A few of these guys were even crazy enough to pick Baldomir over Mayweather. Mayweather is a special fighter and maybe people will start to see that after he's gone from the sport for a while...

To me, this proves nothing about a Cotto vs. Mayweather match up. (Note that I did NOT say that I think Cotto would beat him, only that it proves nothing).

Two different opponents... can you say for SURE that Marg wouldn't beat Mayweather? He's really heavy handed and Mayweather would be working 3 minutes of every round to try and outwit him.

I'm not saying he WOULDN'T, but can you say for SURE?
I would bet thousands of real dollars on it, so yes I am sure. It's one-dimensional vs. the best fighter of the last 20 years. It's not a hard one to figure out.

But let me be the first to say this, when Clottey gets in the ring with Cotto, Margarito, or Williams he will NOT win, he doesn't have the mental toughness of those guys. If he manages to beat one of those guys he will get all of my respect but until then, he has only showed that he can come up short when it counts and even fade versus lackluster competition.

like anybody else, I wish Floyd fought and beat these pretenders too just to add to his legacy, but nobody really believes guys like Cotto or Margarito can beat him. just high hopes

Cotto doesn't suck. He just ran into somebody that had his number on the 26th.
****, Atlas already jinxed Margarito on a rematch...
What I don't get, is people saying Cotto would break down Williams.
              Because, that **** ain't happening.

There are experts out there who STILL think Cotto could top Mayweather.

Guys, Just Ignore DIEGOFUEGO, he has proved on SOOOO many occasions that he is CLUELESS when it comes to actual boxing, he just knows a lot of names and stuff.

He is an extremely biased Mayweather fan. Its unbearably obvious he knows very little about actual boxing and i can garuntee you that he has never set foot near a ring.

lol this is your quintessential Mayweather fan. They all say the same stuff. "I hope Mayweather enjoys retirment, boxing will miss him so much, and he doesnt even have to come back cause we all know he would beat all these jokes anyway. lol"

Fact of the matter is, fight fans respect Cotto, Margarito, and even ****in Zab Judah a hell of a lot more then Floyd Mayweather. Cotto, Marg, and Judah all have pride and respect for the sport, and they all want to fight the very best available to them.

Mayweather litterally ran away from the sport at the first sign of a real threat.

But w/e, i dont really care if his fans support that decision or not.

I like watching Mayweather fight, but his fans are insane
