paul williams cannot be given credit for a win by tony. plain and simple. he is a different person. people on here need to stop crediting paul williams for a victory by margarito, he doesnt leap past cotto by proxy cause of tony beating cotto. i guarantee that 90% of this board would have picked cotto to tear williams up before last saturday. guaranteed.

My thought are this Williams does not have the punch that Margarito does. I don't think he has the beard either. He is tall but lanky and akward. His punches are more like slaps then crushing blows. Cotto would get inside on him and go to the body and as thin as Williams is i don't think he could with stand the body attack that Cotto would bring. I think Cotto would make quick work of Williams but I do not suggest that being his next fight. he needs to go pick an oponent and get his confidence level back up tune up bout then rematch with margarito. If Williams is still around after that then maybe a $$$ fight for them would be there.

I really don't think Williams can impose his will on Cotto like Margarito did, If this fight ever gets made I believe Cotto can pressure Williams and handle his shot better. I don't see a Cotto KO Williams, but I see him winning a UD.

Wow! that is a interesting question. Cotto crushed Quintana. Quintana beat Williams easy first time around. Williams blew out Quintana in the rematch. Let' face it. The knock out was in the first round and Quintana actually was already establishing decent punches on williams before getting caught nice. Fluke knockouts do happen the first couple of rounds.....Goes to show you, style of fighters make fights. Who is truly the best welter weight? I just can't say as of now. There is many battles to come in this weight div.

thats fine, but cotto should still be rated over williams based on his previous fights in my opinion. i think a double header should be set up with margarito fighting judah or clottey winner and williams facing cotto to set up a fight with the winners down the road. if will and marg come out winners they should go at it for the undisputed welter crown

I would go with Cotto by SD or so. Paul Williams could possibly KO Cotto if he gets caught alot. Willaims throws alot of punches and he is also a southpaw...

we should pitch the idea to hbo, and on regular hbo not ppv. that would be awesome. being a marg fan i want him to face williams again myself if just for pride..but the doubleheader would really set it up nicely
