    Ok.

So why even fight at Middleweight if you're not going to fight the best?

    Just to gain the title?

Then the title is meaningless. Just a belt.

Fans shouldn't measure fighters by the amount of belts they have, but by who they fought. The WW division is on fire right now. The biggest fights are right there.
So you don't think Roy Jones Jr.'s achievement of winning a heavyweight title is meaningful?

Because he didn't beat Klitschko or Lewis?

You want actual miracles too now?

If you don't think world titles @ super-featherweight to middleweight would be a meaningful achievement --- I don't know what to say to you.

Jones pretty much cleared out 168 and 175 before making that jump. There is a difference.

Toney beat Ruiz too, and quite a few others as well in the heavy weight division.

Jones beating 1 single heavyweight is far from impressive when seeing another guy who fought at middleweight has beat more than one heavyweight.

Lol, yup give Floyd a free pass because he's Floyd. Don't the rest of you fools know that that is how greatness is attained?

Did you just called Floyd a 17th century Italian ****sexual?

Anything to avoid the best welterweights, I guess.
              • And that's called climbing through. What hair are you trying to split?

              • The summit was always defined. Years before it was reached.
And reaching it and accomplishing it was a huge challenge in itself. One that few fighters will ever achieve.
                If you don't like it

              • Floyd get a free pass to go and do what others can't.
Because he's one of the few that can.
When the Margaritos and Cottos of boxing have won titles in 5 weightclasses, let me know.

              • I called Floyd a artist. A different breed of fighter.
You get 1 or 2 of them in every era if you're lucky.

              • A title fight @ 160lb is just as big a challenge as Antonio Margarito @ 147lb
So if Floyd came out of retirement and pursued that, I'd support it.

                I'd support either fight.

                Oscar De La Hoya
                6 division champ

                Oscar>>>Floyd

But thats just not taking the circumstances into the equation.

Pretty much the way your arguments are made.

If Floyd didn't care about the welterweight division, fine.

Just more proof that hes unwilling to face the best. Just more proof that hes not pound for pound anything other than boxings biggest mouth.

Maybe that.... and wanting the money Oscar would bring...

I don't think mayweather REALLY loves fighting.. He loves money probably and will Fight to get money....

Sorta sucks... still like him kinda though. He's so good... I just wish he loved Fighting and would just fight to be the best and instead of the highest paid.

ahh whateva.. Would like to see him fight again.. but if he doesn't.. I'm aight still.

Jones was @ 175 for years to clear it out.

And he was physically built for those divisions.

                    That's the difference.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a jr. welterweight frame.

Toney's a great fighter also. What's your point?

                      Ugh.

                      Not at all.

I am factoring the circumstances into the equation.
