The 2006 ESPN.com prospect of the year looked tremendous knocking out the average Miki Rodriguez on June 21 to claim the alphabet title that Floyd Mayweather vacated. For his first defense, Berto will be on the Shane Mosley-Ricardo Mayorga HBO undercard against Steve Forbes (33-6), who lost a lopsided decision to Oscar De La Hoya in May but made it an interesting fight.
Next: Oct. 4 vs. Forbes.

Yeah I heard about the matchup a lil while ago. I'm kinda upset about it. Collazo is who he should have fought, but maybe he'll take him on next. Forbes is a good fighter, and at the least it should be a great learning experience.
