I think this is as safe of a fight that could be given to Berto.

Safe in terms of physical damage? Yes.

He could easily lose on points though.

What weight did Forbes fight De La Hoya?

What weight will Forbes be fighting Berto?

Yea, go ahead and stutter out a response...

You sound like a guy that dosen't know much about the career of Steve Forbes.

Forbes was known to balloon up to 180 back when he fought at 135. Why do you think he lost his title belt at 135? Dum diddy dum dum...

My point is he hasnt actually campaigned at Welter, he fought at the DLH catchweight of 150 and is being handpicked for Berto.

I don't really think so... I know Forbes has a great chin but I can see him being knocked out much more so than going the distance.

The 2006 ESPN.com prospect of the year looked tremendous knocking out the average Miki Rodriguez on June 21 to claim the alphabet title that Floyd Mayweather vacated. For his first defense, Berto will be on the Shane Mosley-Ricardo Mayorga HBO undercard against Steve Forbes (33-6), who lost a lopsided decision to Oscar De La Hoya in May but made it an interesting fight.
                    Next: Oct. 4 vs. Forbes.
thats a compliment to mr. rodriguez. how are you allowed to fight a guy who's not even a welterweight. andre berto and hbo is the worst combination ever. this is pure crap. berto is fighting worse competition than joe calzaghe. and hbo is televising it and pretending it's good matchmaking. berto you have a title belt now. you should defend it against worthy challengers who fight in your own division. you should be punished and made to fight margarito 5 times.
