Keep Cotto far away from Margarito and feed Cotto some easy fights for awhile then he might come back to challenge the top fighters.

I'll be very surprised if his comback fight is against a tough contender as Vargas came back against Rivera.

I think he didn't but he was trying to give signs to the ref and corner to show mercy by his taking a knee and him walking away with his hands down and his body language. If the ref or corner didn't stop it then he would have fought on and taken a bad beating.Fighters are taught to keep fighting and there mocked for quitting. If there in a bad spot its up to others to show mercy or they will just go on.Ive seen guys trying to give signs by way of body language and many other thing that just went unnoticed and the guys there to protect the fighter or fighters just left them in there to take a beating. He didn't quit but he was hoping others realized he was done.

he turned his back and walked away from marg, and then proceeded to take a knee without getting hit. He quit, its not a bad thing, it just highlights the difference between mexican and puerto rican fighters, ha... quitting is not something a mexican fighter does in his prime, as cotto did.

Runnin backwards and takin voluntary knee's, thats not how you keep a belt. You fight for that ****, but reguardless if he quit or not, he didn't fight back. He went down without even bein hit. He had whatever that was in him as a fighter, pounded out of him.

Cotto didn't technically quite, but he was as close as it gets to quiting. He took a knee without getting hit, that indicates to me that he knew he couldn't take anymore or really didn't want anymore. I don't think that knee was taken to give him enough rest to make it through the round. It was the 11th round, at that point its not about recovering like you would earlier in the fight. The hurt he was feeling was not going to go away and I'm pretty sure he knew it. When his corner came in and the ref stopped the fight, he showed no kind of disagreement with the stoppage. I think Cotto had already accepted defeat at that point. I think most fighters would quite when getting to that point, but the pressure to not quite is far too strong.

Quit due to inability to breathe.

So you'll know, the crowd which was comprised of about 99% Mexicans, was pretty pissed. I know because I was there. People weren't walking to their cars talking about how great the fight was, even though it was, they were talking about how they couldn't believe Izzy quit.
