This is not a logical statement. Jonathan Oquendo is a pretty polished fighter... he was demolished by JuanMa.

JuanMa has twice the amount of fights that Gamboa has. Gamboa has a bright future ahead of him, I hope they dont make this fight anytime soon, Gamboa will have a loss on his record... probably by KO.

Gamboa was rocked against Jiminez... JuanMa took DeLeons punches and smiled.

Jimenez was a lightweight fighting at superfeather and Juanma is superbantam.
I'm not saying he can't knock gamboa out, because he is really a big puncher and it looks like he could keep his power at higher weight classes, just saying.
These two won't fight in near future anyways, Juanma will defend his title or unify and gamboa goes for another belt at another weight class.
Gamboa has so many bouts as an amateur, does anybody know how much Lopez had?

López started boxing when he was ten years old. As an amateur, López compiled a record of 126-24.[7] He won the Puerto Rican national title for five consecutive years (2000-04).[8] He competed at bantamweight (119 pounds (54 kg) in the amateur circuit). Internationally his success was mixed. He won bronze at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador, El Salvador. At the 2003 Pan American Games, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic he won his first fight but lost in the quarter finals. In the 2004 Summer Olympics he lost his first bout to Khavazhi Khatsigov (score 27-19).

            Ah good to know, thanks.
There has been an interview quoted on here from arena, where gamboa says he has 425 amateur fights. Other sources say anything beetween over 200 hundred or 300 hundred. So I say it's bull**** saying that Juanma is the more experienced guy. In his pro career he fought some tomato cans early on.

                  It'll be a great fight.
I don't want to see this fight yet, I want to see these two prodigies get more established so the fight could have more of a build up.

Thats a easy win for gamboa, Gamboa has more power and better skilled than juanma, And for those saying that gamboa got rocked by jimenez did not see the fight. The only round that gamboa lost was the one where he lost his balanced. If you look closely the full fught you will noticed that gamboa got hit about 14 times during the whole fight. And did you see jimenez face?? he like his face got hit by a train..

Lopez would be too well rounded right now for Gamboa but if Gamboa improves his defense, I'd pick him.
