Lopez is the more polished fighter and has the tools to exploit Gamboa's defensive flaws. I think that he would have more problems with Gamboa than he did with De Leon for the simple fact that Gamboa is faster than De Leon, more athletically gifted and is the better boxer. I think it would be a great fight and i haven't seen how good Gamboa's chin is at this point but right now, i favor Lopez by decision. In a few years, Gamboa's could very well take it.

Gamboa's defense is shaky at best, often times he drops his hands, slips a punch, and walks away from you in a very ****y manner. If he did that **** with Lopez, I could see Lopez catching him clean and putting his ass on the deck.
But if Gamboa could learn to keep his hands up, I think he would beat Lopez by a wide UD. He's just such a better boxer and more technically polished than Lopez at this stage in the game.
i agree with everything this man saidComment

Juanma took DeLeons punches and smiled... then rocked his world with ONE right hook...
JuanMa appears to have more power than Gamboa. Gamboa was rocked by Darling Jiminez. His chin is "iffy".
Gamboa is not nearly ready for JuanMa, he has like 11 fights, JuanMa has double that and has already beat a world champion.... in one roundComment

I'm not counting out Lopez, I love watching that kid. I love Gamboa too but I just see Gamboa as being the more technically polished of the two, but with his bad habits the fight would be a pickem in my eyes.Comment

Gamboa won his gold medal as a flyweight 112,2 pounds, but you can't make as much weight as an amateur as a pro, because you lack time to rehydrate.
His first 10 bouts as a pro he was mainly a superfeatherweight at 130pounds(he mixed the weight classes a bit to get an opponent), I remember him and his opponent being heavier at the weight-in at one fight. But in the first fights of a star weight doesn't matter that much.
His last fight was at featherweight (126pounds)Comment
