  • Who here actually thinks Williams can beat Margarito in a rematch?

Cuz I don't see it happening. Even though I'm convinced this fight will have to take place in order to determine a true WW champ, I don't see Williams standing much of a chance. Note: I don't think the decision in their first fight was controversial, PW did enough to win. I just don't see Tony falling for the same trap twice.

Don't get me wrong I'm not biased towards any of these fighters, but the only thing I've seen Williams impose his opponents with is his freakish physical attributes. I don't believe they were much of an advantage even in the first fight. The only thing Williams cleverly did to win the fight was throw in volumes for 12 rounds straight. Tony hurt PW, but was hesistant to push the fight due to PW's punch output.

With revenge on his mind, a big payday, another title and confidence boost from his win last saturday I think Tony will stop him

If Williams boxes Margarito the way he did first time out, he will beat him again. He was able to do what Cotto couldn't, evade Maragarito's destructive power for long enough to get a decsion win.

If Williams tries to box Margarito the way he did Quintana both times then he will lose.

I think Tony can stop Williams or win a UD

I think tony had an off night the first fight he seemed to lack something over the first half. i think he knows what to expect this time around and will go in and do it.

I am not a williams fan attall tho..

As a Marg fan I hope he fights Williams as it would greatly improve his Legacy if he were to avenge his loss.Williams has a good chance to win tho.

I think Tony wins a rematch because Williams's days makin' that weight is numbered.....but if they were to do it at 154 or 160 I beleive Williams would take him to schoolAGAIN!

Styles make fights and Williams has the style to beat Margarito.

That first fight was close. Marg can't give away the first 6 rounds in every fight though.

If Margarito comes out and is willing to take the kind of punishment he took in the Cotto fight he could get better results. I think Williams beat him quite clearly (8-4'ish) in their first fight, but Margarito also looked inept in the first half of that bout. Williams height and length really bothered him.

This time around might be different, but I'd still have to make Williams a slight favorite based on the two fighters styles.

See, I don't see how Williams can be hype at this point after beating two top 10 rated Welterweights. He's a legitimate Welterweight contender/title holder. Having flaws that may make you vulnerable doesn't make you a hype job.

                    Good points. However..

Williams and his people are trying to elevate him to "the most feared man in boxing", I don't believe that. They've been calling out everyone, courageous as that might be I don't see anyone on Williams' record except for Margarito that could justify this claim. If Williams is as good as his team claims I'm eager to see it.

As for Williams' length and reach, I didn't see that as being much of a factor in the first fight. Margarito was unable to get inside due to Williams' punch output, after the 6th round Margarito was taking punches to get inside and even managed to hurt him. Imagine if he'd do the same from the get go
