Three, anyone would suffer from a body assault like that, no matter how strong their heart. It's a lot easier to go forward and do damage than it is to go backwards.

I kept waiting for the Cotto-Kidney-Bombs after each flurry, but he didn't follow up. He didn't fight perfect. He boxed perfect. Trying to take out a chin made of stone while going backwards is not the way take Margarito down. Cotto can do it, and he will make adjustments.

Nonetheless, it was a great show, and I hope they rematch. Forget the rematch with Williams, and the "he deserves to make big bank," or, "he deserves and easy fight next," garbage. That's not how the greats used to do it. Give the champ a rematch, and prove the mettle is there.

Floyd would have leagues of trouble with Margarito, by the way. Picture Castillo with more power, more stamina, better chin, better heart, higher work-rate...
cotto couldn't put margarito on the back foot in his wildest dreams!

Cotto may need to rest, he was battered by Margarito during the course of the fight. He would later head to the hospital to close up several facial cuts. [details]

If Cotto wants it he has it, Jermaine Taylor suffered a similar fate and got his rematch after some though he was broken.. if Cotto has the heart we think and wants this figth before th end of th year give it to him

              HBO bias, what was perfect?

all credit to both men, and even in a loss, still a heck of a showing by Cotto, nothing to be ashamed of.

but I don't think Cotto had a "perfect" performance because quite simply IMO he got hit too much, stayed on the ropes too much and wasn't even winning on the scorecards!

So going into the rematch (if there is one) just based on what i pointed out, Cotto can make adjustments, weather he does and can win the rematch though remain to be seen

and I'll agree with Antonio, they just fought lets give some time because a rematch should happen, just not next up. (more Cotto's call, but still)

I would like to see Margarito fight Judah, provided he can win against Clottey. After that fight, a Paul Williams rematch makes sense.
