Margarito Would Consider a Miguel Cotto Rematch

Just a joke: If the fight is on Showtime I'll have Cotto KO Margarito in the 1st round (a la Quintana - Williams II, Torres - Holt II).
Margarito punished Cotto in a way most people don't understand. This was Chavez vs Taylor all over again, even though Taylor was "winning" on points, he was recieving a beating. Even Richard Steel said he was thinking of stopping the fight in the late rounds because Chavez was hurting Taylor so bad.
Cotto was getting a similar beating as well, everything he did wasn't working and there's nothing he could do differently that would change it.
People talk about more stamina? His stamina wasn't an issue, he was superbly conditioned. It wasn't his stamina that gave in but those body shots that Margarito was hitting him with that slowed him down.
people say, Cotto didn't go to the body. You are telling me you want Cotto to stand in front of Margarito and trade with him, lowering his hands to go to the body and expose his chin to those uppercuts even more? lol...suicide.
Cotto fought a perfect fight...and still lost. That's what is so discouraging for Cotto fans and something they don't want to admit. Even Max Kellerman said "We are witnessing a superb perfomance by the great Miguel Cotto".
That was until those body shots and uppercuts took their effect in the 7 and 8th rounds.

Cotto should get a rematch just for the sake of giving Margarito the fight against him, alot of WW when they were on top were scared or didin't want the fight for whatever reason and Miguel Cotto took the fight gave Marg his opportunity and I believe Margarito should do the same and give Cotto a chance to avenge the loss. To say Cotto can't beat Margarito is incorrect, he definitely can beat him, IMO Cotto was winning the fight 6 rounds to 4 and lasted 11 rounds alls he would need to do is start off just as good and last the whole 12 and possibly win a decision, but to say Cotto has no chance is just insane!!!!

If Cotto would have followed his counter punching flurries by immediately stepping into Margarito and punching his ribs, he would have tired Margs out first. For one, it would have put Tony on his back foot instead of allowing him to regroup and make chase again. Two, Tony wouldn't have had as many opportunities to catch his breath. Three, anyone would suffer from a body assault like that, no matter how strong their heart. It's a lot easier to go forward and do damage than it is to go backwards.
I kept waiting for the Cotto-Kidney-Bombs after each flurry, but he didn't follow up. He didn't fight perfect. He boxed perfect. Trying to take out a chin made of stone while going backwards is not the way take Margarito down. Cotto can do it, and he will make adjustments.
Nonetheless, it was a great show, and I hope they rematch. Forget the rematch with Williams, and the "he deserves to make big bank," or, "he deserves and easy fight next," garbage. That's not how the greats used to do it. Give the champ a rematch, and prove the mettle is there.
Floyd would have leagues of trouble with Margarito, by the way. Picture Castillo with more power, more stamina, better chin, better heart, higher work-rate...
