Welterweight Division: Suddenly, not so interesting...

Is it just me, or are there now no mega-fights at welterweight?

Nine months ago, you had Mayweather, Cotto, hatton, margarito, Shane, Oscar(ish), Gomez, etc all campaigning at what seemed to be the deepest field in boxing.

Floyd is gone. Cotto will be taking the slow boat back. Margarito isn't that interesting. Berto is still green. Ricky went back to 140. Shane is old. Judah is, well, judah. Gomez got exposed. Ad infinitum.

What the hell has happened to this division??

What is the biggest (non-Oscar) fight that can be made at WW? Competively and commercially?

      Better for consumers, less ppv's.

Erm, what? We now have a potential three way tie for first place between Marg, Williams and Cotto. I think this is great for the division.

There are still loads of competitive fights that can be made. How many of them would be commercially successful is another story.

Actually either Williams owns it, or Cotto, Tony, and Williams own it till Williams betas Cotto.

Interesting for me, and Margs, Berto, Williams, Clottey, etc are all interesting
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
