For the person that told me to look at what happened in first 6 rounds with Cotto, Margarito is a slow starter and he was just warming up by 6th round. Hes one of those fighters that gets stronger as the rounds went on. At first, i thought that Margarito was just a wide open ****er, but he was getting full leverage on those power punches and was using his reach when he had Cotto on the ropes to land his power punches. If Mayweather struggled with Oscar's reach, then he would have problems with Margarito's IMO. Even years back before this fight, i have always new that he would give Mayweather hell. I'm not saying he would beat Floyd, but he is very dangerous and would be one of Floyd's harder fights.
I think if Cotto managed to land so cleanly on Margarito, Mayweather's fast and accurate punches will be able to catch Margarito and I don't really think Margarito can penetrate Mayweather's defense.

Floyd will be there to get hit. Theres only so much you can do with pot shotting. Floyd for the first time will have to fight toe to toe, ok toe to toe sometimes and RUN, most of the time.
That shoulder role, dont mean **** when you have someone aiming at your body. Floyds hands can't keep up with Margarito, but then acourse thats if you belive he has those hand problems.
Point is Margarito looks beatable but its another thing to actually do it.

Do you think that Adamek would have showed the respect he showed Dawson if Dawson didn't have the power to back him off?
Which was to use his speed, pot shot and move and not let Margarito get his feet set, he's faster than Cotto and probably more accurate with his shots.

I remember the Baldomir fight where Mayweather was moving and not getting his, not letting Baldomir get his feet set to punch, he can do the same to Margarito.
Don't compar Baldomier to Margarito. Two differnt fighters. Remember the height, punch, active, technique, differnces. The only thing they share alike is they both have showed great chins. Even Baldomier said, "i will not fight Margarito." after he beat Judah and Gatti. Theres a reason to this and Cotto knows why.

Castillio was the only fighter to bring that consistant educated pressure on Mayweather and his style resume's Margarito. Where Mayweater would have more probleme with Margarito is that fact that he is a harder puncher than Castillio, has a far better workrate and is more consistant. There were times that Castillio stood in the center of the ring with Mayweather and tried to out box him. The majority of Cotto/Margarito was fought along the ropes. If Cotto doesn't have the power to keep from being backed up, then how would Mayweather keep from being bullied as well? Mayweather has lost use of his jab in recent fights and he gets hit a lot more. He also would have a hard time countering effectively off of the ropes when Margarito keeps his distance and doesn't smoother his punches, getting full leverage on those shots.

Margarito still doesn't use his height to his advantage, that won't change against Mayweather, his activity level would just leave more openings for Mayweather to counter, Margarito is a little faster than Baldomir but it isn't that big a difference, his feet are pretty slow, Mayweather would take advantage of that.
