    Cotto lost.
    He was bested.
    Get over it.
um watch the Gif! he clearly saw cotto was down then still took a shot on him.
Barrera did the same thing to marquez and he got deducted a point and marquez was granted recovery time.
Bayless was one of my Top Refs in the game but it seems just like cortez even the great ones will slip.

Cotto had been dipping to the canvas all night without going down.
He never made clear his intetions to take a knee, and Marg finished off his combo about a second after Cotto put his knee down.

Look at your no excuses thread and live by your word.
      Man up, no excuses.

but anyone saw Margarito hit Cotto when he was already down?
The Ref ****ed up he should of gave cotto 5 minutes to recover!

you're reaching here a bit, cotto was down, but it wasn't anything that was done on purpose, margarito was going in for the kill and it wasn't a fight ending blow, and cotto wasn't nearly as messed up as lorenzo in the soto fight, and also not to forget, COTTO IS A WARRIOR AND WOULD NEVER TRY AND GET A WIN BY ACTING HURT FROM A FOUL (on purpose or not) AND TRY AND GET THE OTHER GUY DQ'D, cotto is too much of a class act for that.

the fight was fought with complete class between both fighters inside and outside of the ring, both fighters are major assests to the sport of boxing..........all was fair.

The punch was late. It's hard to tell how late from that gif because it's not real-time. It's a bit slo-mo. Not worth a disqualification, but maybe a point. I haven't watched the fight yet, but from all accounts, Margarito was beating Cotto down, so I'd guess Cotto doesn't survive the fight anyway. It sounds like the best man won, so even though it would be nice for the ref to take a late shot more seriously, I'm not really disappointed with the way the fight ended.

Not only did Margarito hit him after he went down, Cotto took a knee AFTER Margarito hit him on the back of the head. It seems like this is becoming a trend for Margarito.

I think he knew what he was doing. As you can see he stops throwing a punch half way and then throws another one.

That was posted before I rewatched the fight, it looked much more intentional when I rewatched it because he looked like he was going to throw a left hook, decided against it and threw the right hand.

Bro i hear ya right BUT if you watch the Barrera one it was slightly different
Barrera taunted marquez then throw that last shot when he was down
Marg was ending a 2 or 3 punch sequence..
It was wrong and i thought that maybe the ref was gonna give him a little warning or something but it clearly didnt hurt Cotto and would of made no difference to the outcome
