Cotto QUIT, bottom line. I had respect for him and knew the beating he was taking and he took two knees and allowed his corner to stop the fight.

This was Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor all over again. Cotto was winning on points but was taking a beating from round 2 on.

Those body shots and uppercuts on the inside were hurting Cotto in way most people didn't see.

If they fight again, Margarito wins in under 8 rounds, nothing will change. Cotto can't go to the body because to throw to the body you have to drop your hands and that's not what Cotto wants.

Cotto threw everything and the kitchen sink against Marg and he NEVER hurt him...nothing will change in the future. Margarito broke his will, a real warrior gets KO'd out, not allows his corner to bail him out.
        kinda harsh ain't it?

the guy took a lot of punishment , bud. look at his face.

as long as he recovers from this mentally , i think he'll beat marg in the rematch.

he fought the wrong game plan. i knew he would. that's why i bet everything on marg.

as long as cotto wasn't ruined (sometimes it only takes one fight) he decisions marg in the rematch.

cotto is a better fighter. the 1st half the fight proved that. marg was able to beat him through toughness and heart.

cotto needs to make a few changes and he'll be fine.

if they rematch hit me up. i'll take cotto in the rematch.

Why would anything change? Cotto fought the perfect fight in the first 6 rounds, he out boxed Marg easily but was taking damage you couldn't see...just like Meldrick Taylor was vs Chavez.

For Cotto to land body shots, he needs to be inside and that is suicide for him vs Marg....can't you see that??

Cotto's only chace to beat Marg is to box for 12 rounds and move and stay away from MArg all 12 rounds and he can't do that....NO WAY.

Marg walked him down and wasn't affected at all by Cotto's power, nothing will change in a rematch. Marg broke Cotto's will, in a rematch, Marg won't be so cautious in the first 6 rounds and KO him in under 8.

cotto's problem is he didn't go forward enough.

what he needs to do is popshot margarito going forward. go in and out.

body work can not be done in a substantial manner by cotto against margarito. when i had this discussion before with cotto fans they always talk about cotto's body punching. that just won't do against marg because at 5'8 he's gonna eat uppercuts.

cotto can work on the body in a limited manner. 1 punch at a time.

cotto let marg go forward too much. what he needed to do was strike first because he has faster hands and better boxing skills and then retreat before marg can punch back. then reset and get off first when marg tries to come in again.

he just needs to work on his clinching. there was no reason to let marg tee of on him when he was on the ropes. he was too macho to clinch and that hurt him.

the rematch won't be as entertaining but cotto will win by ud.

Your dreaming and reaching for straws. Cotto would not have fought better, that's the problem. He fought a perfect fight, he dictated the fight from the outside on a bigger stringer fighter and was winning easily.

Cotto was landing the cleaner punches throught the entire fight and could not hurt Margarito. Margarito was giving him too much respect in the beginning of the fight and could have walked him down much earlier.

There's nothing Cotto can do to change the outcome in the future with Margarito. He hit Marg with everything but the kitchen sink and NOTHING...

In a rematch, Margarito KO's him in under 8, guaranteed. Will and heart go a long way and Marg's has it all day and there's nothing Cotto could do in the future to change the outcome.

                    Cotto recieved a beating.....
