It couldn't have been better if they staged it. **** was cinematic.
And no prime 4 prime fights?

Personaly I think Floyd is a great fighter, but not terribly exciting considering his talent.
As far as how he'll be remembered, I don't think he was as great as the fighters I named. His talent was on par with all, but the combonation of him failing to make certain fights (no matter who's fault any of us believe it to be) and his ****y attitude have alienated him from the majority of fans. Sure, people watch him, but that doesn't mean they like him. Duran was a prick, but he fought everybody no matter the odds. Hearns had a glass jaw. But he also fought anyone and gave us some of the most exciting fights ever. Whitaker use to bore me to tears, but he took on and beat the biggest challenges and when he moved up he fought the toughest guys out there. Hagler was a beast that I think all walks of life could relate to, blue collar. And Leonard.....Leonard was known for also picking money fights and when he wanted to fight them. The difference is, he fought the most dangerous fights and the public loved his personality. Its for these reasons that I believe Floyd will not be remembered and mentioned in the same breath as these men. I may be wrong, but this is how I see it. Hell, even if Floyd were to comeback and beat every fighter at 147 I don't think he gets mentioned with these guys whether he is worthy of it or not. The majority of fans just don't like him enough to escalate him to that level. This isn't hate, just what I see. Like I said though, I could be wrong.Comment

What i meant to say it was a competive fight. PBF didnt dominate because he was so much better. Even hatton said there was nothing in it until the ref helped PBF.
Someone obviously had to lose, and it was hattons unbeaten record that went. BUt PBF had all the things going for him that night. His own country, helpful ref. Hatton and PBF looked like evenly matched boxers to me that night.
So in history they are comparable boxers with similar records. Hatton only just about losing once.Last edited by hugh grant; 07-27-2008, 03:21 AM.Comment
