people need to start recognizing Wladimir for the great fighter he is
        The division is weak....

You had Maskaev as a champion not one fight ago, Peters is champ hell Ruiz is getting ANOTHER title shot.

It's weak, Wlad is the best of a bad bunch.

Sure there were bums in every era. Today we just have slower, lazier ones.
But people who watch a few of the best fights, Ali vs. Frazier or Holmes vs. Norton, get the the false impression that all the fights were great and all the fighters were immensely talented.

The truth is, most of the fights were the same as the ones today, and heavyweights were no better than the ones today. The overall talent was very much the same.

            Most boxing historians will agree.
biased American Boxing historians always agree when it comes to American fighters over European fighters ,Teddy Atlas hates Wladimir cause he is not American

who ever Louis beat Wladimir would destroy

I think it's pretty much the same as it's always been, people say it's weak because Europeans are on top. But when I watch old heavyweight fights from the 60s to the 90s, the fighters don't really seem any better than they are today. If you watch only a few of the best fights from back then, you may get the impression that it was far better, but if you watch a lot of fights, you'll realize it really wasn't.

When an American wins a world title again, people will start saying the division has improved.
I am not trying to discredit Wladimir at all, I am just saying the division doesn't have the kind of guys that other eras had. If an American wins a title...I wouldn't give a damn...If Haye wins a title I would accept that he is a champion in a relativly weak era. I am not disrediting Wlad, In fact i respect him for trying to bring more credability to the division by fighting everyone out there and unifying the division.

Michael Spinks was a blown-up middleweight, he had too small of a bone structure and frame to be a heavyweight.

Max Schmelling was an old man, well past his prime, when Louis defeated him.
