Cotto Body Punches Are Extremely Overrated

His Body Shots are TREMENDOUS. Undoubtedly and no question about it.

He RUINS fighters. There have been plenty of fighters that he has beaten up in the last few years that havent been the same since.

He has broken nearly every single fighter he has ever faced, except the extremely hard nosed Shane Mosley, who was able to smartly stave off much of Cottos attacks by Clinching. Margarito doesn't even know what a clinch is. He will stand there and eat much of what Cotto has to offer.

I expect it to be a fairly dominant performance by Cotto and not really that close. Margarito might have a few moments like Zab but all in all I expect this to be a thoroughbred vs a quarter horse.

I don't see a war of attrition. That is a Corrales-Castillo type fight. Cotto is WAY too smart for that kind of fight. But if Margarito tags him he might get dragged in. Other than that I see a systematic breakdown by Cotto

Im leaning slightly towards Cotto, but a Margarito win wouldn't surprise me. Either way, both guys are going to be grinding each other down till one gains a clear advantage. Whatever happens tonight, Im looking forward to it!

if cotto tries to make a living going to the body in the fight then he won't be covering his chin, i think we are all in agreement that to hit to the body you have to lower your hands right? ok, so that means he is open to hooks and uppercuts to the chin, cotto has been hurt by lesser punchers than margarito. if cotto wants to chop margarito down to the body he is playing russian roulette cause he CAN be hurt. and if margarito hurts him you will see what a true killer instinct is.
