Cotto Body Punches Are Extremely Overrated

You wuold think a tall guy like margarito would be a perfect victim for cotto body shots but hes not even gonna feel them, and cotto will land a couple
there is a better chance of margarito koing cotto with a body shot

i for one dont expect cotto to win a KO...not even to the body (but its most likely for cotto to hurt margarito to the body rather than the chin)...

but how do you "margarito isnt going to even feel them"...

are you saying cotto is feather fisted? i hope not.

i dont expect cotto to stop margarito or put him down...(because i hope his emphasis is on BOXING...not toe to toe brawling) but i think he can at least get margarito hurt a little bit to the body...

and since margarito is taller from the waist up than most welterweights (with the exception of paul williams) it does make a perfect target...especially since margarito is taller than cotto...the body will be in pretty clear view of cotto and im sure he'll be tempted to go for it.

bro, you are missing some key points....

        1) Miguel Cotto is Natural SouthPaw that fights Orthodox, his Left hook is lethal, no one can deny that fact.

        2) Mostly "EVERYBODY" Margarito fought was head hunting, no one has really tagged him in the rib cage.

Enter Cotto country....the best short puncher in the game! Both will have their moments, for one to think Margarito will not get tagged in the rib cage is being oblivion.

do you mean the amount of room cotto needs to get off? because hopkins and mayweather are pretty up there when it comes to needing practically no room to get off.

Either way, Cottos punches arent overrated, especially to the body, if they were, they would be a non issue in his fights but they arent, they hurt and i am sure margarito and his camp are aware of this.

I gotta disagree my man. If this fight goes to the late rounds, those body shot will pay dividends.
This fight will be a war of attrition.

Cotto's body punches will be a factor in this fight one way or another.

I don't see a war of attrition. That is a Corrales-Castillo type fight. Cotto is WAY too smart for that kind of fight. But if Margarito tags him he might get dragged in. Other than that I see a systematic breakdown by Cotto
