If you never bet on favorites, chances are you're gonna lose a lot more ******** than you win, as much of a chance as you think that underdog has.
The Patriots beating the Dolphins at 1.2 to 1 odds is a much safer bet than picking Cotto to beat Margarito at 2 to 1 odds. Very different levels of risk involved lol

The point I was trying to make is that I see a value in getting a favorite at closer to even money than they should be the same way I see value in gettin an underdog at farther from even money than they should be. The Patriots example was just to give an idea of an extreme case of what I mean.

No because the risk greatly outweights the reward IMO although im a little biased lol

I considered betting on Cotto, but I like both guys and will be happy for whoever wins. If I bet on Cotto though I might worry about it and so not enjoy the fight as much.

If we're being realistic (at least based on last season), your chances of getting the Patriots over the Dolphins at those odds without giving points is about zero. In their games last season the Patriots were probably at least -400 straight up against them.

Those are the kind of bets I usually look for. You don't even have to be right half the time to show a nice profit.
