I put 200 on Miguel Cotto, was that smart?

I got 200 on Cotto at 2 to 1, giving me a profit of 100 bucks. Is anyone gettin a better price than that, with real dough? I don't care about what points you all are bettin, that's all nice and fun but I wanna see some cold hard cash. By the way, do you all think that it's worth riskin 200 on Cotto?

No, cuz he's gonna lose. You will be back in the poor house.

He might win, but it's too much risk and too little reward.

Its a safe bet. He should get the UD. But, his chin will get tested.

Not a bad bet. Maybe you could've waited to see if the odds get a little closer so you risk a little less to get your $100. The only time I bet is on the underdog but only if I actually believe he will win. Good luck with your bet.

Not the greatest bet imo...I think the value is in Margarito simply because nobody is too sure what will happen. Your money is at risk, make no mistake, and it might have been wiser to take Margarito simply for the better odds.

Ive been less in touch with boxing lately and I fell Cotto is going to absolutely destroy Margarito, I honestly dont even think Margarito deserves this fight. Hes continuous proven himself to be a joke.

I put money on Cotto...its a very good bet IMO. Not as good as Casamayor / Marquez odds, those you might want to check out. I really think Casa is an under rated fighter, hes at +250 i put 100 on him to win i think hes going to pull it out...

See I actually think Cotto is even better than a 2 to 1, if I was an oddsmaker I'd put him at closer to 3, 3.5 to 1. I think Cotto is younger, faster, stronger, and more durable. No knock on Tony, he's a very good fighter, but he's beatable, Paul Williams proved that. If Josh Clottey didn't injure his hand, he'd have beaten Tony also. That's a fact, I challenge anyone to tell me Clottey wasn't winning that fight. Now, I think Cotto is better than both of them. More power than Williams, more power than Clottey. Clotteys defense is better, but I think that is beside the point. I don't think Cotto will be knocked out, he is as fast as he has ever been and his defense improves with every fight. If I thought this was a 50/50 fight, I'd stay away. But I think Cotto is going to prove once again that he is one of, if not the most dangerous fighter in the game right now with the exception of Pac-Man. If they trade liver shots, I even could see a Cotto KO. Otherwise wide UD.

People on here seem to think you should always look for a value bet, betting and winning more than you risk. I happen to be from a different school of thought. I think it's good to bet on the underdog sometimes. But if you find a favorite that is at better odds than they should be, say if the Patriots were listed at 1.2 to 1 against someone like the Dolphins, you should view that as a steal as well and try to put as much as is comfortable for you on that favorite. If you never bet on favorites, chances are you're gonna lose a lot more ******** than you win, as much of a chance as you think that underdog has.
