Oscar's game plan was to come in light to gain speed. Bad game plan.

Hard to say but I wonder if it would have made a difference if he came in at 147 and ballooned to 160. Oscar would have been healthier but slower. It would have at best looked like the Clottey fight. Manny was just too fast for Oscar.

It's like groundhog day- Manny is a massive underdog, Manny takes a massive dump on the favorite, absolutely shreds him to pieces (see: Ledwaba, Barrera, DLH)... then the excuses roll in. Rinse and Repeat.

Not really. Everyone thought Oscar would outweigh Pacquiao by 15lbs+ instead Pacquiao outweighed DLH.
Pac destroys any version of Oscar at any weight. He went on to fight guys who outweighed him by 15lbs+ and more. Result?

That fight had nothing to do with weight, Pac was just by far the better fighter. Oscar being heavier and slower would've made Manny's speed advantage even greater (ask Margarito)

Maybe Pacquiao would have still beat him if he didn't kill himself with the weight. I doubt it though, Margarito hurt Pacquiao so much that he didn't want to fight big guys anymore. The much better DLH would have done much worse.

Oscar was no longer prime and was more promoter by then than fighter. You check out his record over the previous 4+ years and he has very little to show for.

BTW - Manny said while he was training for Margarito that 147 will be the maximum after the Margarito fight.

Pretty sure Floyd couldn't even afford a car years back. They're both terrible with money.
