it's not shadey. at least in my opinion.

oscar is not a 154 champ right now.

the fight is of no significance aside from the popularity of oscar. oscar is no longer an elite fighter.

winning belts at 135 or even 140 would be more significant historically for manny. this fight has financial significance for manny though......

Good point. If Manny somehow manages to KO Oscar, what a way to go out with a blaze of glory.

If he loses the DLH fight, I'd love to have him unify the 135 division, fight Hatton, and retire as probably one of the best-ever in the sport

          very close to it.

a great for sure. i don't know about all-time though.

featherweight to lightweight are very deep divisions.

getting a lineal 135 belt will solidify his all time greatness though.

              i disagree with that list.

              it should be:

              1. calzaghe
              2. ali
              3. pacquiao

So what manny needs to do to be a part of that ATG?
unifying 135lbs and beating Hatton is that enough?

for me it is and quite possible as long as hatton doesn't lose his 140 belt.

hatton is about the only 140 guy that manny might have a chance with due to his height and reach.

everyone has different ways of judging ATG. i have my own.

people say ATG all the time to refer to all great fighters. i don't do that.

i only call someone ATG if you can argue that he is the best in his division ever. he doesn't have to be the best just that you can make an argument for it.

obviously manny was not the best ever at 112 , 122 , 126 , 130 or 135 because he didn't stay in those divisions long enough.

BUT you can argue he's an all time great by him accumulating titles in all those different divisions.
