Just re-watched Cotto-Judah tonight...

Have you put any thought on how Cotto's power kept Judah from going after him? You make Marg as this unstoppable machine that can get hurt and that he is much stronger than Cotto. Cotto is a very strong, powerfull welterweight who will not get pushed around by Marg, he wont break like Cintron did either. Cotto will make Margarito wary of his power and slow him down. He'll break him down and stop him in the later rounds.

Judah didn't fire back because he was afraid of getting hit back, he obviously felt Cotto's power, nobody is denying that, here you go again with your bull****. You can't compare a weak minded Judah who's always breaking down in big fights or when things get rougher than he expects, to a strong-willed, iron chinned Margarito who fears nobody in the ring, it's like comparing apples to oranges.

Cotto will hit Margarito, and he will hit him hard, but I don't think it would be enough to slow him down, Cotto didn't slow down Mosley and Mosley is known for his strong chin as well, what makes you think Cotto will slow down Margarito?? I mean be realistic here, I'm trying to be as unbiased as I can with this thread.

Excellent post, just like the old saying goes "you gotta grab the bull it's horns" or "fight fire with fire", that is the only way you can beat a strong guy like Cotto, by imposing your strength and go after him, wear him down.

Cotto has skills and can box, but he's not a slick boxer, he's not fluent, he's not fleet footed, the people who say otherwise are the ones with his nuts down their throat. Margarito cannot box with Cotto, I'm not saying he can't box but against a guy like Cotto you have feed him his own medicine, punch back, trade shots, get on his chest, **** him up, and Tony has the perfect style for this fight.

Cotto's most underarted strenghts are ring intelligence and timing. He knows how to move in the ring and his timing is impecable. And that's why I know he will win this fight. I have no doubt that Margarito will do just what you said try and give Cotto a taste of his own medicine. And while Cotto is not fleet footed, he excels at knowing when to move and when to stand. This combined with his timing will allow him to get the better of the exchanges when he choses to stand. And that's Cotto key to winning this fight.

Boy did Zab get his ass handed to him, I remember watching this fight at a bar and forgot how lopsided this fight was. Cotto bulldozed Judah like a pitbull all night. Zab on the other hand, had his moments, stunned Cotto with that slicing uppercut and big left hand right on Cotto's mug but other than that he just played defensively and barely threw any shots.

Now the reason I'm posting this is, how can Cotto not look good when his opponents are afraid to go in and trade back with him, Judah's got such a fragile mind, easily breakable. The more I see Cotto fight the more I see Margarito just going face to face against him, not wavering, not running, just hitting Cotto with conviction and power. Tony ain't backing down, he will get hammered by Cotto but to no avail, he will break Cotto down. This man can't stand pressure, his chin is shaky no matter what his fans say. Tony is KO'ing this man in the 9th or 10th round, **** it I will go far as saying that possibly earlier on the fight.

rewatch the cotto/mosley. cotto is a much improved fighter in that fight compared to the judah! hand speed and much improved boxing skills.
i think the sportsbooks are off. it should be closer to even!
cotto was so poised in the mosley fight.
tell your boy margarito to use his dymomite uppercut on cotto. mosley had a senior moment and forgot about the damage he did when he connected with them . and only thru a few.
feel margarito better learn how to throw straighter punches down the middle.

OK I agree with you, that could be my biggest concern about the fight since Tony is not a fast puncher, however slow or not the shots will eventually land on Cotto, he's defense is sub par and despite of his better movement I really doubt he can avoid the barrage of punches Tony can throw per round, all in weird and different angles.
