I haven't ever heard the welterweight qualification... a lot of people say he is the worst champion ever.

So, in my thread... which is just about the worst champion ever, Aiken plays a role, thoughts?

Gatti was a 3-1 favorite at one point to beat Baldomir, no one was picking Baldomir to beat Gatti. You have to give him some credit for defying those odds.

Gatti was favored by name alone. His biggest welter win was against Damgaard. Other than being a bigger name, there wasn't much in Gattis favor. He got blasted out in his other 147 fight by DLH. Beating Gatti hasn't been impressive for a long while now.

Baldomir's only fans are his family, and Floyd supporters who try to justify him being a legitimate threat at the time Floyd fought him. I can bet my left nut and right eye that if not for him fighting Floyd, the Floydboyz would be calling him a bum aswell.

Nobody thought he'd beat Gatti or Judah, and yet he spanked them both. You have to respect that at least.

Baldomir is a tough , gritty guy. But his skill level and competition are suspect at best. You're right though, he did what he had to against Gatti and Judah and that deserves respect. Im not a fan of his, but props should be given, when deserved.
