Alexander Povetkin would easily defeat David Haye

Alexander Povetkin is clearly one of the best heavyweights. He had greater success as an amateur than David Haye, winning gold in about a dozen international tournaments, including the 2004 Summer Olympics.

As a pro, he's easily defeated all of his first 16 opponents, and never even been knocked down in a fight. He has fast hands, fine technical skills, a high work rate, decent power and excellent stamina.

I think Povetkin is an all-round better fighter than David Haye. He's also a man of stronger character and a better sport.

To be honest ive not seen enough of Povetkin really to make an informed judgement.
Based on what i saw against Sykes he looked ok but then the standard of opposition was such that he could never look good IMO.
Haye is naturally athletic, throws great power punches, is quick and talks a great fight.
Haye / Povetkin as an eliminator for a shot at Wlad would be a good shout.

Right now, I agree, Povetkin would win but we haven't seen Haye at heavyweight yet and Povetkin is very open to straight right hands which is Haye's best punch so if Haye carries his speed and power up with him, I'd give him a shot at beating Povetkin.

I'm not a big fan of Haye but I've seen Povetkin fight.

He is garbage.....if Fast Eddie Chambers only wasn't such a fat ass, he would have beaten him via Unaminous decision.

Haye will knock him out in 5 rounds.

Haye will obliterate Povetkin. People forget how much Chambers landed on him.

Ill jump the bandwagon too.........Haye will beat this guy, Povetkin cant punch and has no class.

And he is short just like Haye.

Now I really want to see this fight.

I believe Haye is about an inch and a half taller than him.

I think Haye's listed at 6'3 and Povetkin at 6'2
