Very good question. Today I would say that Hopkins would be the bigger upset. My mind could change on that though.

Which fighter has a better shot at pulling off the upset, Jones or Hopkins?

The bigger upset would be Jones over Calzaghe. Calzaghe is P4P#2, whereas Jones has not had an elite win for many years. Jones was great once, but now Calzaghe is the 'great' and on paper he should beat him easily.
With Hopkins and Pavlik you have a guy who was until very recently highly ranked for P4P against a guy who very recently wasn't. Hopkins fall from the ratings is perhaps unfair since his loss was to a fellow P4P boxer, and he performed pretty well. In fact Pavlik's ascent through the rankings has largely been at B-Hops expense, so all in all we have a much closer fight on paper.
Therefore I think Hopkins has the much bigger chance to pull the upset, and I really wouldn't make it that big of an upset at all. Not that long ago, he would have been heavy favourite.

I don't think Hopkins would be that big of a betting underdog against Pavlik the way Jones will be against Calzaghe.

The bigger upset would probably be Jones over Calzaghe, simply because Jones hasn't fought a top tier fighter in so long, and Joe is about #2 P4P right now.
Hopkins beating a younger Pavlik would be shocking, but not as much because it's at 170.

I wouldn't be suprised if they both won.....they're try to make their rematch big as possible....what better way can you promote a fight between two fighters in their 40's than having both defeat undefeated linear champs.....I heard them talkin

Jones beating Calzaghe would be the much bigger upset.
Pavlik-Hopkins is a borderline pointless fight (and thank you so much for adding a $50 price tag to it). If Hopkins came back down to middleweight, the fight would have more meaning. Kelly moving up to HBOPPVweight to fight a 43-year old man whose fights haven't been watchable for years offers nothing beyond exploitation.
Jones hasn't looked convincing against top opposition in nearly five years. Coming all the way back to beat one of the best two fighters in the world would be nothing short of historical.

I predict a Hopkins upset as possible. Hopkins has the ability to truly frustrate an opponent and make them fight his fight.
This fight will answer a lot of questions about Pavlik. He is still young and somewhat green on the big stage and we will need to see if he can keep his composure against an opponent that will not give him anything.
If Pavlik can keep his mind on what he has to do, he will win. If he lets Bernard get to him, he will lose. Nothing more and Nothing less. If Pavlik passes the Bernard test, he will be ready for anyone.
Win or lose, this will be a great learning experince for Pavlik. He will learn more from Bernard, than he could with 10 other opponents put together.
