Cotto vs. Margarito ( Pro & Con's) and Predicitions

Yeah, I think Cotto can hurt Margs, and will. But not too bad. Margs' face wil be seollen like amother, but late in the fight, Cotto is out. Cotto will have some fat lips, a knot on his head, and some red, red, red ribs. They are both gonna kick each others ass. Cotto might win the rounds, but it is Margs who will serve a meaner ass whoopin.

This what concerns me about Margarito, and why i am picking cotto to win.

It seems Margarito have to take punishment to give it. Meaning he is going to walk right into Cotto punches to give his. (Not a smart Strategy IMO)

If Cotto was good at fighting Backwards, I would Bet my house on Cotto.
but he isnt. But he is good at Jabbing his opponents, and throwing short body hooks. which is more i can say about margarito. and Cotto can set up his offense with a jab.


My question is does Margarito have the ability to set up his offense with a jab, instead of setting up his offense with his face.

I think his camp understands this, and being a pro he understands this also. They know that he can brawl, but that he needs to put something in front before which is the jab. He wouldnt work on his strengths and let his weakness get weaker. He is a natural born slugger, so they will train him to JAB JAB JAB and BOX BOX BOX because that is not natural to him. You dont have to work on natural ability, but it comes natural and thats what you do best. But if you get your weakness to be a strength or a semi strenght than you are that much closer to being a complete fighter. And that is what ALL fighters struggle to be. A complete fighter. And it is no different from Margs. Margs' boxing in this fight will be surprising.

Margarito natural mindset i believe is like a Pitbull.
ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK without re guard.

But in this Fight in order to win, I think His mindset Needs to be more then ATTACK. it needs to be How Do I ATTACK. and Where do I Pullback.

Margarito can really shock cotto, If he fights Cotto like Lewis fought Tyson.
Which was to punish Tyson everytime he came in with the jab, and then Pressure Tyson every time Tyson falls back.

Didn’t Oscar spar with Margarito. The come out and said Cotto will win his due to hand speed. Margarito must be slow as. That's why I voted Margarito being too slow

Margarito has the chin and determination to make him show those to the end of the fight.

If Cotto loses, he will get his chin hurt, and either be KO'd, or get reluctant and cruise to a decision loss (like all of Naseem Hamed's opponents did).

If Margarito loses, it is because Cotto fought his fight and drew on his skills to outbox him.

The closer Cotto gets to a victory in this fight... the less exciting it will be. Take my word on that.

My bets say it for me, but... I am picking Margarito to catch Cotto's chin. I understand Margarito isn't a killer with his punches, but, he hits hard, plenty hard enough to KO or discourage Cotto into a loss.
