He's around the same age as Glen Johnson, and both have similar records, except Johnson has lost more fights.

40 year old Glen Johnson just had a title fight against Dawson - why was nobody complaining about his age?

And Chad Dawson ducked his mandatory Diaconu to fight Johnson. Silvio Branco, on the other hand, has been mandated by the WBC!

See, I am hatin on him cause he's not that good. You're hatin, cuz he's elderly.
That's age discrimination man. AGE DISCRIMINATION.

In all seriousness, Branco being a mandatory is wrong on all levels.

Because Glen Johnson is a better fighter, regardless of age.

No, he isn't. Both have had world titles, both have lost a few fights, although Johnson has more losses.

Glen Johnson is overrated because he's American.

No, he's Jamaican. He's overrated because he's Jamaican.

In my opinion, and it's only my opinion, Johnson is a much better, less protected fighter than Silvio Branco.

Co-sign (even though you discriminate against the elderly in an earlier post)

I discriminate against former world champions fighting 6 rounders and earning title opportunities off of them.

Ha, yeah he beat a .500 guy didn't he? Yeah, that's pretty bad.
But Branco will probably go to Romania for the fight. I heard he always wanted to visit there!

Glen Johnson has lived in the US for over a decade and is an American citizen. His promoter is American too. He is overrated because he is well-known to American fans.

It's amazing how he keeps getting title shots, despite all those losses.

The same could be said for Branco, who has many more losses by way of the short route than does Johnson.
