Fighters that are doing it right

what fighters do you currently respect for doing what YOU feel is the right thing to do for boxing and their careers?

I gotta give it up for Gamboa and his management for constantly pushing Yuri and putting live fighters in the ring with him given his pedigree. They could have easily put 10 bums infront of him to make him look good but they know what they have with him and know what they need to do to help him progress.

    Yeah Gamboa is doing well.

Also, Cotto is doing very well. Fighting good comp lately, Quintana, Judah, Mosley and now Margarito.

          Cotto , Povetkin , Haye.
All are fighting either the best in their division , the best they can get and are champions and are lining up tough challenges for the future.
They turn up with intent to win.
Unlike a lot of so called Champs and Former champs out there who are just collecting easy paydays.
Unfortunately there are too many idiots willing to pay for second rate match ups.

I would say Cotto, Paul Williams, Israel Vazquez and to a lesser degree Nate Campbell.

Right now I think Cotto is the only one in the top 5 in the world doing it right. Towards the bottom of the p4p list, I gotta say Vazquez. I guess JM Marquez is doing the right thing since he doesn't have as many options. He wants another fight with Pacquiao so he's taking on the #1 guy at 135. Those 3 really are the only top level guys doing it right.

I respect Ricky Hatton because he does a huge amount for various African charities, as well as local charities.

I also respect the fact that he actually had the balls to move up a weight division and fight one of the greatest boxers of all time.

Sadly, I cannot see him beating the much younger Malignaggi in the USA in a few months time, but he has been a World Champion for many years now.
