Diaconu

Yeah, maybe Johnson puts his punches together late and gets a stoppage to avoid that. Diaconu is not known for having great stamina and can be hurt to the body.
Oh and have there been any update on Oscar Diaz recently?Comment

I haven't spoken to the Duva family since this happened. I'm going to talk to Lou Duva on Monday and give you guys the latest info, OK?Comment

Great, thanks. From what i am hearing he seems to be doing pretty fine and is showing little movement. I have never been this worried about a fighter before. This is the part of boxing that i don't like.Comment

Friday's reports were relatively encouraging. His surgeon expects him to survive. Once he does it is a question of how much of his previous functions he can retain. Hopefully he can take care of at least his most basic needs.Comment

I have looked at tape of Diaconu and he loves the left hook. Lunges in with his punches. Leaves himself open. Keeps his hands up which always helps. Looks like he is beatable. Henry was a tough fight for him, and it will only get tougher.Comment

Adrian Diaconu's next fight will be in Romania as planned, his promoter said last week.
His opponent will either be Glen Johnson or Silvio Branco. They are waiting for the WBC to make the decision on who will fight for the title.
I think Branco would make more sense, since Johnson has already had a title shot this year, and lost. But personally, I prefer to see Diaconu fight Johnson, since that would be a bigger win for him here in North America.Comment

Supposed to be Oct 4 in Romania. Here's the story:

Mind you, Jason Abelson is not 100% reliable. The title of the article is wrong, but the information from Diaconu's promoter is probably correct.Comment
