    Diaconu

I am interested in hearing what people think about the SHARK, where does he stand among the other LH champs. How is his power, chin, endurance, boxing ablitity?

I don't think he looked great against Chris Henry. To me it looks like he can be hurt bad to the body and he tends to lunge in.
He hasn't lost though but by fighting in Romania he doesn't do himself any favors getting noticed on the world stage.
He seems like he's got some skills but I think the big boys can ko him.

I agree with this analysis. The best thing Diaconu has going for him is better than average power for this division. He's only about 5'9 tops so he has that against him too. But he is a legitimate contender.

I'm still not sure what makes him exceptional, outside of his telegenic KO of a faded Rico Hoye. Diaconu looks soft around the mid-section and isn't the fastest guy I've ever seen. If he defends the title in Romania exclusively, he can hold onto it for awhile.

Other than I think his handspeed being pretty decent, but I'm not disagreeing with that. Probably the best thing he has going for him is that he is relatively young in an old man's division (other than Dawson). But I don't really see him as a long term factor either.

I have no idea who this guy is. He fights in one of the worst divisions in boxing outside of heavyweight and hasn't ever fought anyone good enough to appear on a major boxing telecast.

You guys are making conclusions about Diaconu based on the Henry fight alone.

Now Diaconu outclassed Henry thoroughly, hit him at will with power bombs, staggered him a few times, but Henry is some kind of a physical speciman and he won some rounds cause Diacony wasn't able to take breaks. Henry has fought at heavy, I don't think anybody in the division knocks him out and he gives everybody a tough out regardless if his skills are mediocre.

If Diaconu didn't try to ko Henry he would've been much more impressive.

That's like saying that Cotto ain't good cause N'dou for the second half of the fight was punishing him on the ropes with a broken rib on top of everything.

This talk about Diaconu is ridiculous. He's got more of a decent shot at upsetting Dawson. He hits harder than Johnson and he is sneaky with his punches. I think he's got a good chance to win a decision against Johnson now after his experience with the super human Henry.

Yep, I am basing my observation on one fight. Has he been better in others?
I didn't think much of him.
