im american and I don't judge how I like or hate a fighter based on country. I hate fighters based on how they pick their fights and fight there fights. I had respect for joe cal for his title defenses but he never left home and fought someone I cared about. I wanted him to fight pavlik, but it seemed like he ducked him. at the same time I was a huge mayweather fan and then he wouldn't take any fan friendly fights and I started to dislike him. I like haye, I like hattons but it seems like he might have a hard time with a good puncher at this point. I wanna see more from khan.I like witter as well just think he's done too. but there afre many more american fighters that bother me and I wanna see knocked out.

I hate Haye for the same reason I hate American big mouth arrogant pricks who've proved nothing yet think they deserve a title shot(James Toney). Hatton has turner into Ruiz Jr. lately, I actually liked Hatton a lot. I think Joe C waited too late in his career to prove hes an ATG. I dont dislike a fighter because of their nationality but I think some people do like a fighter just because of their nationality and thats kinda ****** and it does seem most Brits like almost ALL British fighters. For Gods sake there are still Audley Harrison fans, and that there is just ridiculous

I think the UK fans our more territorial than Americans. Americans I think just like fighters for many different reasons. UK fans like you said pick guys just because there UK and NOT American....

Like I said, I don't give a **** where they are from what color they may be, who there mom's brother sister was. I don't care. I look at a fighter and decide on them and them alone in the ring, NOT outside it but INSIDE it...

I don't dislike UK fighters, I'm actually interested in seeing David Haye fight here in the States. I also enjoy watching Junior Witter and Amir Kahn do their thing. You have to understand that so long as the majority of the people who post here stick to nationalistic bull****, you're going to have a lot of ******ed my country is superior than yours arguments. Boxing should transcend ethnicity and nationality, but that's just wishful thinking on my part. Some fighters undeservedly get disrespected, from people who don't really know jack **** about them but these folks can't see the bigger picture.

Leave it to this guy to be the irrational **** on this thread. Good job.

Hatton = Overrated. Tough bastard, but that's about it. Terrible "skills". Relies on toughness and workrate. Workrate is slipping. Tzyu is the last fight where he impressed me at all.
Calzaghe = Good to possibly great fighter. Problem is he waited too long to prove if he's truly an ATG. But no one should question his heart and his toughness. Ever. He's taken monster shots, gotten knocked down, and kept coming.
Khan = hasn't fought anyone. Who knows how he'll be...but getting knocked down by random fringe bums is not promising. Waiting to see but I think he'll probably get exposed.
Haye = No one can determine how he'll do at heavyweight yet. He could make some big waves. As an offensive fighter he's fun to watch. I think Klit will beat him, but I have to applaud him going after the number 1 guy and wanting that fight. I don't think anyone should write him off yet, OR say he'll KO Klit easy.

Yeah, so some Americans don't "hate" UK fighters. Just that some of their fans on here are quite delusional. Others are pretty reasonable. It just that the delusional ones tend to be pretty vocal.

I'm sure UK fans see some US fight fans the same way. Big deal.

Hmmm, these kinds of statements are probably the best answer to the OP's question.
