Why didn't Arum go for Mikkel Kessler?

A fight with Kessler is pretty much meaningless if Pavlik wants to fight Calzaghe. If Calzaghe and Pavlik are going to fight it'll probably be at 170 which is why Arum wanted Hopkins at 170 to see how he'll do.

If Kessler fought Miranda and beat him, then he would've got more exposure and be in contention with fights with the likes of Pavlik, but instead he wanted another title.

It is interesting that Kessler chose Sartison and Haussler, two guys I've never heard of before they were mentioned next to Kessler, over Miranda. I don't see the logic in that Bat, please explain.

Like everyone other than some teenage **** fanboys, Kessler knew Miranda was no competition.

          You're right...because Sartison and Haussler are competition...riiiiiight.
Bat is saying that if Kessler vs. Haussler is made, Haussler may die ring...you call that competition?

Kessler's handlers misplayed their hand with the American promoters and television companies. There's no denying that.

According to the earlier post Calzaghe Kessler drew 1.6. Cotto/Margarito drew 1.1. That's not "the same or more".

You say that no one cares about Calzaghe, and yet he has all the top names wanting to fight him. Hopkins, Roy, Pavlik, Tarver...all for a guy no one cares about? That doesn't add up.

It's true that Calzaghe-Kessler didn't do as well as the biggest draw in boxing (de la Hoya). But guess what? That's because...he's the biggest draw in boxing. No one does as well as him.

Cotto and Margarito were fighting bums, Slappy and Kessler was between the two best at 168.

If no ones cares about Calzaghe they wouldn't be doing a 24/7 for Calzaghe - Jones.

Kessler has an underrated fan base due to the fact he's fought in quite a few countries, a lot of people in the UK know him or at least know of a "Big tatoo guy" who fought Calzaghe lately and people in Australia know him too for beating Mundine.

I'd say that's because of Jones, a sort of, can he do it one last time?

It got less, so what does it matter?

It's like saying "you're better than a guy with a 21-13 record, you must be terrible!" If you were worse than that boxer, it would be bad, but if you're better than him, what the hell does it matter how good or bad he is?

In America there is a large Mexican population and a lot of Puerto Ricans. Among them are people who will watch their countrymen fight regardless of their opponents, especially when you have 2 Mexico vs PR fights in one night. However there is no large Danish population. California and Texas aren't full of Welshmen. So JC-MK is at a disadvantage already, yet still did better. That says something, and I'm not sure why you're trying so hard to pretend otherwise.
