Then why is the fight at 170? Seems like Hopkins is getting what he wants and it should be the other way around. If Hopkins really wanted to fight then he should have to come down to whatever weight Pavlik wanted. Hopkins is betting on Pavlik's power not coming up with his weight. I really don't understand why Pavlik wants this just so they can either say he beat a 43 year old or he looked terrible (ala Calzaghe) against a 43 year old.

Pavlik needs to understand going in that its going to be hard to be so active when Hopkins goes to his bag of tricks to slow down his workrate. We all know how active Calzaghe is and he was a shell of that when he fought Hopkins.

I like the machup and as big of a fan of B-hop that I am, I have Kelly Pavlik beating him by a easy UD. He has nothing left offensively.

This sets up a potential matchup with Calzaghe, that is if he chooses to continue after RJJ sends him packing with a loss on his record.

I'm sure Pavlik would take the leftovers.

i cant see it myself, Hopkins is a hugger nowadays and the age WILL catch up to him at some stage. Kelly COULD be the 1st man to KO Hopkins if he catches him at this late stage in his career.

Hopkins will chew up Pavlik. Pavlik got a suspect chin as we saw when Taylor knocked him down and he did a 20 second chicken dance. More chance of Hopkins KO in this fight with a one off counter right than Pavlik KO. Hopkins chin is too good.

B-Hop isn't ******. He wouldn't be fighting again --- especially against a strong, young champion --- if he didn't think he was capable of turning back the clock physically one more time.

Hopkins has guile, there's a difference. His work inside is too sophisticated to see him simply branded a hugger.

I think he'll avoid being caught with much clean, and land the right sporadically but clearly.
Let's see how good Kelly's jab looks against Hopkins.
If the judges want to favor Pavlik's activity the same way they favored Calzaghe's, so be it. But I don't see B-Hop getting knocked out. At all.

The fight is for this Fall, Abraham already has one inked for this Fall. So if Pavlik does not fight Hopkins that makes him a fraud also? Because he sure as hell will not be fighting Abraham this Fall since Abraham has another fight signed up.
