Christ! This gets madder and madder every day! I thought Hopkins was flat out, dead shot and should never fight again? Now, Pavlik is getting credit for taking this fight? I must be going crazy with how this stuff works?
I love this site!

It's sad to see him decide to fight on, Hopkins will be 44 years old soon and looked his worst against Calzaghe. I do give Hopkins a chance at beating Pavlik even at his age, but the younger man should be favoured in this one.
Pavlik won't look too good after this but it will set up a big fight against Calzaghe. Abraham would be a much better fight for Pavlik in my eyes but Hopkins is a bigger name.

BHop should stop
I don't know why Hopkins is continuing on, history will be very kind to him on his last fight.. once this current climate settles down, I think there will be more people trying to figure out how he went out on a L with an opponent that could barely touch him.
Fighting Pavlik is uncalled for, it's a guaranteed loss. He can't perform for 12 rounds, he's regressed back to the Hopkins that had stamina problems against Taylor. He's way too past it now, father time finally came for him and there's no way HBO is going to put him over a future cash cow in a close fight, and he ain't knocking Kelly out.

damn, as a Hopkins and a Pavlik fan I don't like this fight. Obviously Hopkins is a legend and has nothing to prove - when people look back at his loss against Calzaghe no one will critsize him because he was 43 and already done accomplished everything he needed to. He should hang 'em up and call it quits. Pavlik is 26, he has so much energy and power. I don't know if Hopkins will have the stamina this time around. A few years ago, **** Hopkins would eat Pavlik up though, no denying that.
As for pavlik, too much risk no reward. I mean if he beats hopkins, so what? The man is 43 and is coming off a loss, a fight he also would have won if he was younger. It proves nothing. Plus it's at 170. At 166 he couldn't KO Taylor, I'm not sure if his power will translate well at 170. I really have no idea. And if loses? That will **** up his chances with Calzaghe and/or Abraham most likely.
