would it be more competitive if they set the weight at 140?

oscar has been fighting at what 150 catch weight mostly.

if he had to get down to 140 would it be less ridiculous? i'm just curious.

remember guys us boxing fans who are knowledgable would know it's not a fair fight. would joe blow who only orders big name , high profile fights feel the same way as us?

would people that don't normally watch boxing know it's a mismatch?

remember guys oscar's last fight was against a former super featherweight champion as well. yes he fought a few fights at welter and was campaigning at super lightweight in recent times but is he that much bigger than manny? he's not much taller.

I think DLH wants to fight Cotto if Cotto beats Margarito but I wouldn't be too surprised if they made a Pacquiao-DLH fight if Cotto loses, it definitely makes sense financially because the fight would make a lot of money.

But yeah people would pay to see it and it would be HUGE. But DLH isn't popular on here and if he were to fight Pac, he would get criticised big time.
i seriously doubt oscar gives a rat ass what we in this forum think.

he needs a retirement fight. who else can he fight?

manny is a 5 division champ. manny is the lightweight champ. manny is the #1 p4p fighter in the world.

most people don't know who manny is.

but if they tell the world oscar is fighting the #1 p4p fighter in the world. champion in 5 divisions. the current lightweight and super lightweight champion of the world. the fighter who beat the great erik morales and marco antonio barrera.

how many non-boxing fans are gonna buy it? how many non-boxing people will go watch it?

oscar will sell it this way.

manny has beaten the greatest fighters of mexico in this era.

            no one can beat him.

i'm not as young as i used to be and i'm not in my prime anymore but i would like to try and reclaim some of mexico's honor in beating him.

i know he's the #1 p4p fighter in the world. i know he's beaten everybody. i know he's beaten every champion he's faced.

i know i'm not as good as i once was but i'll do my best against him.

            BAM! 750K-1M ppv buys.

Like I said in another thread, IF Cotto beats DLH then a match between the two could happen at the end of the year.

He'll definitely market himself as the Mexican hoping to beat the so called Mexicutioner or Mexican Assassin and he'll also market Pacquiao as the number 1 pound for pound fighter in the world, winning titles in 5 different weight classes, although I think he'll try to avoid mentioning which weight classes they were in.

At the end of the day, it'll be The Golden Boy in his last fight, against the pound for pound number 1 Mexican Assassin who is also a hero in his native Philippines, as Merchant once described him, Muhammad Ali and Elvis wrapped in one.

They'll try to make it as epic as possible.

more than likely. puerto rico vs. mexico will always sell. especially the #1 welterweight in the world.

                  but if marg wins?

Then the Pac fight could happen but in 2009. Plus Pac has to get past Hatton first.

                      hmmm......

for the guys who voted no. can you honestly say if this fight was scheduled that you wouldn't watch it?

no matter if you think it's a gross mismatch. no matter if you think it's a circus freak show. you wouldn't watch this fight?

if this fight ever gets made i'm gonna dig this poll up and see who voted no. if i read you guys in post-fight threads or asking for the sopcast of the fight beforehand , i'm gonna laugh.
