One thing is certain. After Calzaghe has hinted that he won't retire after RJJ Pavlik isn't going to fight Arthur Abraham any time soon.

Look at it from an economical viewpoint. It's better to fight 'safe' fights with the goal of getting in the ring with JoeC. Worst case is that he'll be slapped silly for 12 rounds at 168 lbs witout losing the MW title.

Why risk a career payday with Calzaghe for a chance to be KTFO by the Abrahammer?

Yeah, it's blatently obvious... Pavlik doesn't strike me as a guy who would duck anyone.

They may do it in time, but just like Mayweathers biding his time, so is Pavlik, basically controlled by Arum though unfortunately. At least Calzaghe speaks out about who he wants to fight, Pavlik sits back, says he'll fight anyone, but doesn't chase or talk the #1 contendor in AA, and lets Arum seek fights with Mora, and a guy 2 weight divisions lower.

Sorry there's a major double standard going on.
My god, a Calzaghe fan berating another fighter apparent ducking. You taking the ****ing piss?

If 2 years from now, AA and Pavlik haven't fought, despite AA continually calling out KP, then we can call it a ducking. As it is, AA has just come off a great win off Miranda, and now is the time for him to solidify his status as a top, top fighter in the minds of the American boxing public.

AA Vs KP will be a tremendous fight if and when it happens. Which it will.

The difference between this and Calzaghe in regards to Pavlik is that JC keeps coming out and saying Roy Jones is going to be his last fight, despite him previous saying RJJ was shot and he wanted Pavlik. He might have stated different today, but most of us still remember those delusional comments about how Pavlik "doesn't want a piece of me, I'm too good, me" from Calzaghe.

If JC retires without fighting Pavlik, THAT will be a ducking.

If Pavlik refuses to fight AA at some point, THAT will be a ducking.

And right now, I know which has the greater likelihood of coming off.

See, this is the ****ing problems with you Calzaghe minions. You take criticism levelled at your God and then turn it around in some asburd manner, try to deflect.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Joe Calzaghe nuthuggers on this forum are about the worst thing I've ever seen on the internet.

Both sides seem willing to let Abraham get rid of his mandatory first.

LOL @ Calzaghe fans trying to draw attention away from him turning down a fight with Pavlik.

When you call the retirement of a 36 year old undefeated champion a duck when he doesn't fight a champion in a lower weightclass, what would you call the retirement of 35 year old HW champ before rematching a fighter he defeated in the most controversial of fashions? (Lennox).

The same way Calzaghe could be ducking Pavlik, with all those past prime, 40 something's to take care of.

Well, I'm not sure he wanted the harder fights for Calzaghe throughout his career (Warren does have a reputation, rightly earned, of protecting his fighters big-time) but in this case, it's clear who wants to fight a "shot" (Joe's words) RJJ. And it will be clear whose decision it was not to Pavlik, if that doesn't happen.

His fans can't blame Warren anymore.
