Strange how Cotto, who never fought a current champ, 's resume is better than Hatton, who fought 4 current title holders in a row, in two different weight classes.

Nowaday's too much emphasis is placed on champions/titleholders. Take Baldomir for example. He was the ww linear champion. Does that mean he was better than Mosley, Williams, Cotto, Margarito? Answer is No. Anybody can beat a bum with a title. Obtaining a title is easy. Keeping it is the hard part.

If it were Cotto in the ring with Baldomir instead of Floyd, we would not be having this conversation right now. Champions or not, Cotto has beaten better fighters than most of the top guys in the sport right now.
